Teacher Appreciation Week May 5th- May 9th
The GES PTO will be hosting Teacher Appreciation Week Monday, May 5th through Friday, May 9th. We are asking that every child and parent take time this week to tell their teacher how much they truely appreciate all that they do. The PTO has planned a variety of events for the week.
Monday- "Our Hats Off to You"- everyone wears a hat
Tuesday- "National Teacher Appreciation Day"- Every child should bring in a hand written thank you note to their teacher(s)
Wednesday- "Purple Power Day"- Everyone wears purple
Thursday- "You make school a treat!"- Every child should bring their teacher a treat (candy, apple, cookie, etc...)
Friday- "You make our children bloom"- Every child should bring their child a flower or seed packet
The PTO will be hosting a Teachers Breakfast on Tuesday. If you would like to donate breakfast foods please send them into school on the morning of Tuesday, May 6th.
The 100th Birthday party for Groveton Elementary School will take place on Wednesday, May 14th from 1:30- 2:30pm. Please come and join your child in celebrating this special day. All parents, alumni and community members are invited to attend.

2:00pm Adding of items to time capsule
2:15pm- Cutting of cake, students will serve cake
Orders are now being taken for the 2008 Field Day Shirts. These shirts cost $3.00 per child's shirt. Adults may also order shirts at the cost of $6.00. All of the shirts this year will be purple with the 100th Birthday logo on the shirt. If you have not yet ordered your shirt they must be ordered ASAP. Contact Mrs. Cloutier at 636-1806 for more information or questions.
We have just started tallying the collected Shaw's receipts and we estimate that we will have about $100,000.00 in receipts!! Which will earn the PTO $1,000.00!! So keep on saving those receipts!!
