![]() The Christian Homeschoolers' Hybrid School (CHHS) is undergoing new administration. As of June, 2007, the program will be run by HomeLink Education, a division of Homeschool Associates. The new program will contain much of the original components and high standards, with many new and exciting options as well. All references to "CHHS" or "Hybrid" on this website must be considered "HomeLink" (or HomeLink Northern New Jersey) as of June, 2007. HomeLink is purposed to assist families with homeschooling and to provide support, encouragement accountability, and training that will enhance the parent's role as parent-teacher. HomeLink's mission is to provide suitable locations, resources, and Advisors (teachers) that parents can depend on. HomeLink provides classes, projects, and direction for advancing the work of home education. HomeLink Northern New Jersey (HNNJ) is located in Newfoundland, New Jersey, and provides academic classes for homeschooled students, grades 6-12, in academic areas of Math, Science, Foreign Language, and Language Arts as well as additional options of support and enrichment for the homeschooling parent. In the HNNJ, homeschool students attend classes once a week with professionally or experientially trained teachers. Students then are responsible to independently carry out assignments at home during the week; all work being overseen and managed by the homeschooling parent. This partnership of professionals with homeschool parents provides a viable educational alternative that ensures a quality academic experience without sacrificing schooling at home. EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY The HNNJ desires to support homeschooling by facilitating independent learning which is presented through challenging, thorough, academic curricula, many taught from a biblical worldview. Scriptures and biblical principles are integrated into all that is taught whenever possible. The HNNJ also strives to maintain high academic standards along with positive moral character development. All instructors participating in the HNNJ will value and maintain home education principles. It is not the intention of the HNNJ to replace the home learning experience but rather to partner along with, secondarily to, home education. Parents are still "primary educators", fully responsible for their students' education and are expected to oversee all aspects of coursework presented in the HNNJ. Enrolling students in the HNNJ does not absolve parents of their responsibility to meet requirements of New Jersey Home School Law Official School Colors: Red and Black. Why? "But If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from the darkness of our sin." 1 John 1:7 "I think [this verse] represents [well] the blood and sin ... I also like how it mentions fellowship, since we have fellowship at Hybrid." -Jarek, former CHHS student |
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ASPECTS Following is a list of just some of the extras that we currently have (or hope to have, indicated by asterisk) available at the HNNJ.
