NOTICE: OPEN HOUSE IS MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2007
REGISTRATION FOR THE 2007-2008 SCHOOL YEAR IS NOW UNDERWAY. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ENROLLING, REVIEW THE ENTIRE WEBSITE and CONTACT THE DIRECTOR VIA HOME-PAGE COMMENT BOX. APPLICATION TO REGISTER (for new students) DEADLINE IS APRIL 24, 2007; REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 25, 2007.

ENROLLMENT OF NEW PARTICIPANTS IS LIMITED ONLY TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO:
- ARE GOOD CANDIDATES: please see "What are Requirements to Participate?" and "How Do I Determine My Candidacy?", numbers 16 and 17 on the FAQs PAGE and;
- THOSE WHOSE CLASS CHOICES ARE SOME FOR WHICH WE NEED MORE ENROLLMENT TO HOLD A CLASS. THANK YOU.
A complete registration for the HNNJ is a PROCESS, consisting of the steps described below, in their given order. Please note that simply applying does NOT ensure acceptance into the HNNJ. Applicants will be considered on the basis of a combination of: eligibility, academic and character references, and best fit in the courses available.
1-Copy and paste the Application Form below into the "Comment Box" email window on the home page (bottom right). Fill the form out there, and click "Send It" to be sent to the HNNJ.
2-When sending the above mentioned Application Form in the "Comment Box", be sure to check the SMALL BOX underneath your email address so that you will be added to our email list. This will ensure your getting all necessary notices prior to becoming an actual enrollee (i.e. notices of Open House Visitation Days, etc).
Once the administration receives the completed Application to Register Form, each applicant will be contacted via email to be invited to attend an Open House Day. After attending the Open House and reviewing all the particulars of the HNNJ, those still interested in proceeding with the application process will be asked to pay a $20 non-refundable Application Fee (for first time applicants only). Deadline for application to register is April 25, 2007. These applicants interested in continuing will also be asked to proceed with the remaining steps #3 through #5 at that time. While applicants should NOT attempt to SEND IN Steps #3 through #5 until instructed to do so, these interested persons can be gathering the information for Steps #3 through #5 in the meantime to expedite their Application Process. Persons who apply AFTER the Open House dates must contact administration asap to be scheduled for an interview and for further processing.
3-Applying family is encouraged to have a referral from a CURRENTLY ATTENDING member of the HNNJ; referral must vouch for the FAMILY'S commitment to strive for excellence in education, moral character and overall commitment to homeschooling. If no current member is known, a referral from another source to vouch for character of the family is required.
4-Provide a character reference letter for EACH student applying (a pastor, Sunday School teacher, co-op teacher, coach or other adult who KNOWS THE STUDENT WELL is sufficient for references). The reference should come from someone who can vouch for the student's individual character as well as for their determination to succeed in their classes.
5-Along with #3 and #4 above, parents must provide proof of having homeschooled for a minimum of one year prior to HNNJ enrollment: a copy of an HSLDA membership, homeschool support group membership or other is sufficient for this step of registration.
6-Applying student must receive Placement Testing for any courses in the math, foreign language or composition disciplines. Placement Testing for the 2007-08 school year will take place on May 14, 2007.
AFTER the HNNJ administration has had a chance to review the above materials and receive Placement Testing scores, knowledge of acceptance or not into the HNNJ will be made to the parent. The HNNJ is under NO OBLIGATION to provide full disclosure of reasons for not accepting a student. Once acceptance has been given, the applicant will be asked to provide Step #7, below.
7-$100 non-refundable Registration Fee; deadline June 25, 2007. In the event of registering past the Registration deadline, the non-refundable late registration fee requires an additional $50 fee.
When all the above are collected and APPROVED, the student is officially "enrolled", and at that time student class confirmation, placement, invoices for tuition and then finally, scheduling, will occur.
