Events- For a listing of upcoming events, please click just below the calendar on the left. Please remember to get RSVP's to your leader on time, so she may submit them to the event's chairperson before the deadline. Also, please keep in mind some events are for specific age levels of Girl Scouts.

  Troop Happenings
Troop 596 is working with the Standardbred Retirement Foundation in Hamilton, a racehorse rescue organization, as their service project for the "Brownie Quest". The girls will be going to the farm monthly to help care for the horses, and also opted to make a monetary donation instead of their annual holiday grab bag. The monies will help purchase bedding for the stalls.

Troop 4 worked on completing their Bronze Award this year. The girls chose to "Celebrate our Seniors" by visiting nursing homes, performing variety shows, playing bingo with and making greeting cards for residents. The girls also worked at the local senior center helping out at events and weeding some outdoor areas for them. The girls worked very hard and should be proud of their accomplishments!!

Service Projects
Troop 549 is collecting pop tabs from aluminum cans to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The House receives much needed financial support through this program. The Troop is also collecting Pepsi & Coke caps to exchange for promotional items to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. Please bring donated tabs & caps to Troop meetings and ask your leader to pass them on to Mia of Troop 549. This is a great "no cost" way to help a worthwhile cause.

Food Bank of Ocean and Monmouth County

The number of families seeking assistance at local food banks is steadily increasing, as many people are facing hard economic times. Donations are needed throughout the year, not just during the Holiday Season. Some of the regularly distributed items are cereal, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, pasta sauce, mac & cheese, soap, shampoo, toothpaste.

  Service Collections at Events
Please remember to take note of the "Service Collections" listed on fliers for Events. For each event our Service Unit chooses a local charitable organization in need of supplies. Donation items should be new/unused unless otherwise specified. Thank-you.
