I am excited to announce an Essex county chapter of Project Linus. I am in the process of setting up meetings and get-togethers. I look forward to working with many wonderful people.

I have had the pleasure of receiving blankets from some really wonderful "Blanketeers" already and appreciate all they have contributed thus far.

Please keep checking for meeting dates they will be posted soon.

Mission Statement
Project Linus is a volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission.
  • First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
  • Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities for the benefit of children.

Project Linus Group get togethers
Project Linus of Essex County needs your help!!!

I have many blankets that need labels sewn on and I also have lots of yarn from school held Yarn drives. So, if you would like to make a blanket come get some yarn.

I hope to see many people at the get together.

To make it easy I have scheduled the get togethers every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Please double check the website for possible cancellations.
Our next meeting dates are
February 10, 2010 and February ?(TBA), 2010
7:30 p.m. to 9:30ish
149 Chestnut St. Nutley, NJ 07110 The Public Affairs Office (entrance is around back)

Thanks to my hard working "Blanketeers"
I had listed many of my blanketeers, when I first began my chapter. I am now the luckiest Chapter Coordinator because there are too many blanketeers to mention. I have worked with some of you and your presence makes our meetings fun and enjoyable! Others I have never met, but your blankets speak volumes. My favorite thing is receiving a PL box on my porch and opening it to find a beautiful blanket or blankets. Thanks to All!!!
