We are Girl Scout Troop 50158
Girl Scout Troop 158 is a Teen (Cadette) troop in Jackson, NJ. We have been involved in many projects. Most notably, we hosted a collection for the Northern Ocean Animal Shelter, which resulted in donations of over 3,000 items! We have planted flowers, cleaned properties, and helped those less fortunate. We have been to Toms River, Farmingdale, Philadelphia, Cape May, and New York! We enjoy camping, seeing new places, and having fun!
NEW COUNCIL - SAME GREAT TROOP
We are officially now realigned with Monmouth Council, and have chosen the name Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore! This new Council has many exciting opportunities for us! We can participate in activities in Ocean and Monmouth county locations. This changes does not impact our meetings in any way; we still will have girls choosing their activities. and we will be there to advise them!

The Purpose of Girl Scouting:

WHAT IS A HUG?
HUGS is a Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore program, designed to give an opportunity to individuals and families to show their financial support for our Council. The HUGS Program provides our local Girl Scout council with funding to develop new programs and services, and to continue the great programs and services we enjoy! Please return the envelope (with or without a donation) to your advisor. Each girl returning an envelope, receives a HUGS patch.
This is a suggested list of items to bring on camping trips. Please use your judgement in adjusting the necessary items due to the specific needs of the trip:

Extra socks
Extra shoes/sneakers
Sit upon
Folding chair
Sleeping bag
Extra blanket
Toiletries: soap, washcloth, towel
Deodorant
Sunscreen

Gloves

Our troop has begun working on the Interest Project, In the Pink. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, (October), we have made posters (which by now are displayed prominently).

PRODUCT SALES UNDERWAY!
Our fall product sales program began September 28, 2007. We have the opportunity to sell nuts, chocolates and magazine subscriptions to help support our troop. All orders should be given to the Advisor by Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
