MAUNDY THURSDAY - March 20, 2008
There will be no service, but the Church will be open for private prayer.

GOOD FRIDAY - March 21, 2008
Ecumenical Service - 12:00 noon: Held a the Chatham United Methodist Church.
Soup and Sandwich Supper & Good Friday Service - 6:00pm: Soup and sandwich supper at 6:00pm followed by a worship service at 7:00pm.

EASTER SUNDAY - March 23, 2008
Spring flowers and Easter lilys placed in honor or memory of loved ones transform the sanctuary into a flower garden. Contact the Church at 973-377-1459 for more information.
Sunrise Service & Communion - 6:30am: Service is held outside on the front lawn followed by breakfast. Dress warmly
Communion Worship Service - 10:00am: Service of celebration in word and song. No Church School.

MEMORIAL DAY - May 27, 2008
At 8:30 am there will be a brief service and wreath laying at the Memorial Stone on the green in Green Village. This will be the 34th Anniversary of the stone and services there. Come and join us.

LABOR DAY ECUMENICAL SERVICE - August 31, 2008
Held a the Chatham United Methodist Church at 10:00am. There will be no service at the Green Village United Methodist Church that Sunday.

BLESSING OF CREATION - September 28, 2008
The purpose of this service is to be "witness to God's and the church's love, care and concern for creation. As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God's creatures, the chruch's witness of stewardship is strengthened".

This will be our 5th annual Blessing of Creation at Green Village United Methodist Church. If you have not attended this service, you have missed a fun service. You're invited to bring your pets, plants or other living things to be blessed. This is a service that children "beg" to attend, so please bring your children, grandchildren, friends and others. If it should rain, the service will be held in Fellowship Hall.

WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY - October , 2008
On the first Sunday in October, we celebrate "World Communion Sunday", an interconnections of Christians globally, as we are fed and nurtured at the Lord's Table.

FIRE FIGHTER'S SUNDAY - October , 2008
Service at 10:00am. All area fire fighters and auxiliary members are invited to join in a special worship service in a special worship service. Members of the Green Village Volunteer Fire Department provide fire safety tips, along with a look at a real fire truck for the church school children. This is one of our Sunday School childrens' favorite Sundays. It always gives our children an opportunity to see how we "do" the word of God in the world. Everyone is invited to join together in a special coffee fellowship after the service.

ALL SAINTS DAY - Sunday, November 2, 2008
Celebrated on the first Sunday in November, we remember those who have gone before us to their eternal home. The church provides candles for you to light in memory of your loved one(s). If you have lost someone, please write his/her name on the memorial slip on the table in Fellowship Hall. Place it in the basket by the slips no later than October 30th so his/her name can be printed in the church bulletin.

VETERAN'S DAY - November 11, 2008
Service and laying of the wreath is held on the at the Memorial Stone on the green in Green Village at 11:00am.

THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE - Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Service to be held at Christ the King Church in New Vernon. We hope to see some of our Green Village UMC friends there.

ADVENT BEGINS - Sunday, November , 2008
Following the service, families are invited to make Advent weaths with fresh greens for their homes. If you have your Advent wreath frames, please bring them to church, If not, the church will provide.

CHRISTMAS SERVICES - December 24, 2008
Two services are held on Christmas Eve in a sanctuary adorned with pointettias and holly.
Church School Pageant - 5:00pm: Service for children and families.
Candle Lighting Service - 11:00pm: A traditional service of scripture and carols.
