A welcome event for over 40 years, these sales have become a worthy "recycle" of
usable clothing and housewares, as well as a treasure trove of items you cannot possibly live without.
A bake sale is also held on the first day of the rummage sale.
This adds up to great fun for both the faithful volunteers and the community.

Gertrude Hawk candy may be purchased from a special Easter brochure from a church school student or youth group member.
To view the Gertrude Hawk catalog, please click HERE.
Checks should be made payable to GVUMC (NOT Gertrude Hawk!). Do not include any sales tax.
Orders must be returned to Leah or Nila no later than March 1st at 10 am.

    First day of Church School.

Held on the last Sunday of September, the purpose of this service is to be:
"Witness to God's and the church's love, care and concern for creation.
As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God's creatures, the church's witness of stewardship is strengthened".

If you have not attended this service, you have missed a fun service.
You're invited to bring your pets, plants or other living things to be blessed.
This is a service that children "beg" to attend,
so please bring your children, grandchildren, friends and others.
If it should rain, the service will be held in Fellowship Hall.

Please support the Green Village United Methodist Church with a purchase from the Yankee Candle Fund-Raising catalog.
Yankee candle products make excellent gifts for any occasion including holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and house-warmings.
The brochure is available by contacting a church member or online at Yankee Candle.
Checks should be made payable to GVUMC.
Orders will be delivered 2 to 4 weeks from the last day of the sale.

All area fire fighters and auxiliary members are invited to join in a special worship service.
Members of the Green Village Volunteer Fire Department provide fire safety tips,
along with a look at a real fire truck for the church school children.
This is one of our Sunday School childrens' favorite Sundays.
It always gives our children an opportunity to see how we "do" the word of God in the world.
Everyone is invited to join together in a special coffee fellowship after the service.

The Church School students will not only be out for treats, they'll have their UNICEF boxes with them!
We hope they will be brought back jingling! Start saving your extra change now; a little goes a long way.
This is a wonderful way for children to help children.

We will also have a UNICEF box in Fellowship Hall for the adults to fill.
Why not drop in the loose change you have with you each Sunday.
    You'll hardly miss it.

Remember, October is UNICEF month and October 31 is National UNICEF Day!

A service and laying of the wreath is held at the Memorial Stone on the green in Green Village at 11:00am.
    Come and join us.

This annual fund-raiser is held from 9:00am until 3:00pm.

New pajamas for children living in homeless shelters can be a wonderful gift.
It is a visible way we can surround them with the love of God.
Each year, we collect pajamas from size 6 months to adult extra large for teenagers.
Please bring unwrapped pajamas to Fellowship Hall by the second Sunday in December.
They will be delivered to Bridges Outreach in Summit
and then be delivered to shelters in time for Christmas.

Join your neighbors at the church at 4:30pm for hot dogs, chips and hot chocolate.
    It's free, it's fun and it's fellowship.
The Chatham Brass Quintet will be on-hand to play during the supper.
Afterwards, we sing Christmas carols to celebrate the season.
Shortly before 6:00pm, we take a short walk down the luminary-lit road
to the Green Village Fire House where we await Santa's arrival.
