FIREFIGHTER'S SUNDAY
The community, along with the members of the Green Village Fire Department, is invited to attend a special worship service at 10am at the United Methodist Church in Green Village. Firefighters provide fire safety tips, along with a look at a real fire truck.

FIREMATICS COMPETITION
Come and cheer on the Green Village Fire Fighters as they again participate in the annual Tri-County Firematics Competition. Nine fire departments compete for the fastest times in each of three events - the single hose, double hose, and the ladder. This year's Firematics Competition will be held in (TOWN) at (LOCATION) and will start at 11 am.

GARAGE SALE (INDOOR)
The Auxiliary of the Green Village Fire Department is hosting a multi-family Garage Sale with 20+ vendors. The sale will be from 9-3 in the truck bays of the Green Village Fire House located at 529 Green Village Road in Green Village and will be held rain or shine. A wide range of items will be available - antiques, children’s toys, jewelry, housewares, books, clothing and much, much more. Home baked goods will be available as well. Parking is free. GOLF OUTING
This year’s Annual Golf Outing will be held at Mendham Golf and Tennis Club. This is a day of fun and prizes for golfers as they raise money to support the Green Village Fire Department. Individuals or groups of four may sign up to play. The day culminates with dinner at the firehouse and announcement of prize winners. The cost is $175 per person or $TBA for a corporate sponsor which includes a foursome and sign sponsorship. Click HERE to download a Golfer Registration Form. ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Kicking off this year’s Fire Prevention week, the Green Village Fire Department and Auxiliary are sponsoring an ice cream social. Additionally, fire fighters will be on hand to provide fire safety tips for the young and old as well as demonstrate various fire fighting techniques. The festivities are from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and the activities are on-going. We hope that members of the community will join us for this free, kid-friendly event. This event will be held rain or shine.

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
Green Village Fire Department members will be marching in Chatham Borough's Annual Independence Day Parade. The parade begins at 10:30am.

MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE AND PARADE
A brief service and laying of the wreath will be held on the green in Green Village at 8:30am. Following the service, Green Village Volunteer Fire Department members will be marching in New Vernon's annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade begins at 9am.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
The Green Village Fire Department will once again participate in the National Night Out Against Crime with a community barbeque beginning at 6 p.m. at the firehouse. McGruff, the crime dog, along with Chatham Township Police will attend. Hamburgers and hot-dogs will be provided by the Fire Department. Members of the community are welcome to attend.

PAPER SHREDDING EVENT
The Auxiliary of the Green Village Fire Department is hosting a paper shredding event at their fire house located at 529 Green Village Road in Green Village. The event will run from 9 am until 12 noon. All are welcome to bring their personal and business documents for shredding. Participants can watch their sensitive information being destroyed by a truck-mounted shredder provided by Shred-it, Inc. of Parsippany. Not only will this fund-raiser protect privacy and help avoid identity theft, it will also help to protect the environment as all the shredded paper will be baled and recycled into other paper products.

The cost will be $TBA per file box/brown paper grocery bag. Larger containers will be priced accordingly. No newspapers, magazines, books or binders please. All proceeds from this fund-raiser will benefit the Auxiliary for fire scene relief, training and community outreach.

RAFFLE DRAWING
The Green Village Fire Department is running its annual raffle with six drawings. The prizes will be based on a percentage of the gross proceeds (1st - 20%; 2nd - 10%; 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th - 5%). The purchase of a $100 raffle ticket enters you in all six drawings. With only 200 tickets available, they will be sold on a "first come, first serve" basis. Tickets will be available after September. To purchase a raffle ticket, please click HERE to print a form. Simply fill out the form and mail it with your check (payable to Green Village Fire Department) to Green Village Fire Department, 529 Green Village Road, Green Village, NJ 07935. The annual event will be held at Miele Field, located at the end of Britten Road in Green Village. The event is a 100 Target Lewis Fun Shoot. The entry fee is $TBA which includes lunch. There is an additional $TBA Lewis Cash Option. Pre-registration is required. Click HERE to download a registration form. VETERAN'S DAY SERVICE
A service and laying of the wreath is held at the Memorial Stone on the green in Green Village at 11:00am. All are welcome to attend.

VISIT FROM SANTA

	Santa Claus will make his annual visit to the Green Village Firehouse at 6pm. Families can come and watch as Santa arrives by fire truck to light up the tree. After Santa lights the tree, he will proceed into the fire house to hear the children’s Christmas wishes. Complementary refreshments and cookies will be provided by the Auxiliary of the Green Village Fire Department. The Auxiliary will be collecting monetary contributions towards holiday purchases of food gift certificates and/or phone cards for the Jersey Battered Woman’s Shelter’s clients and children. Before going to the firehouse to visit with Santa, you are welcome to join your neighbors at the United Methodist Church in Green Village for their annual Hot Dog Supper beginning at 4:30. At 5:45 the group will walk from the church down a nostalgic luminary lit road singing Christmas Carols to await Santa’s arrival. Music will be performed by the Chatham Brass Quintet. All are welcome to these free events.
