BsaLogoOriginal.jpgWelcome to the Hunterdon Arrowhead District Website
Pahaquarra District was a 2012, 2013 Journey to Excellence Silver Award Winner.

The HAD Google Map lists most units, camps, Scout Shops, and other relevant landmarks!

This site is moving!
The Council website is set up to contain district-specific content, so we are moving to the Hunterdon Arrowhead page there. Both sites will be around for awhile, but look for new content there, not here. For example, you can register online for the District Dinner. Please send comments about the change, and all requests for content changes to the website team.

Going out of business sale - literally!
CNJC still has stuff to get rid of. If you might be interested in bidding on any item(s), please check the list, here.
HAD Monthly Roundtable
First Wednesday of the month 7:30 PM at the North Hunterdon High School Cafeteria, 1445 State Route 31 South Annandale, NJ 08801
Please submit short announcements and fliers for distribution at RT to John Erskine
The full year Roundtable schedule is now available HERE!

HAD District Committee Meeting
Second Wednesday on the month at 7:30 PM
at North Hunterdon High School, room 120.
We would like each unit to send a representative to every District Committee Meeting, so that we can consider every unit's needs, and you can take back district plans to your unit.

HAD Commissioner Staff Meeting
Second Wednesday of the month, 6:30 PM
before the District Committee Meeting at NHHS, room 120.

Who do you know that deserves recognition? The HAD awards dinner is coming soon (see below). Now is the time to nominate the many deserving volunteers for an award. Here are descriptions of the awards. Among others, every Pack, Troop and Crew can nominate one person from their unit to receive the Fleur-de-lis award. The District Award of Merit has special nominating instructions and nomination form which you can download here. If you've been scouting awhile, you're probably elegible for the Veterans Service Award. Please submit your nominations for all District Awards by April 4th's RT to John Erskine.

HAD has 3 Google Groups where anyone can post and receive Scouting related announcements and discuss topics. They are private; you must subscribe and be approved to see and send messages. That means its impossible for outside spam to get in.

Please keep postings on topic. While the groups are not moderated - that is, everything you post immediately goes to everyone on the list - if someone abuses the privilege, we have the right to remove your ability to post.

Sign up now for any or all lists to stay informed.  You do not have to have a google login; any email address will work. It doesn't have to be a "gmail" address, and you don't have to use it for anything else but these groups.

Other New and/or Important Information

2014 Klondike Results

Check this comprehensive list of Scout Summer Camps within an approximate 5 hour drive of Hunterdon. We know this information can become obsolete. If you see errors or ommissions, please send your updates to us (John Burgess and Rob Sheneman).

Update Your Training Records
As of recharter 2014, all "direct contact" adults must be fully trained for their position. This include Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Webelos Leaders, Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. This will be extended to Committee Members for the 2015 recharter. We know that old training records are not online. If you are one of the many trained scouters whose information is not completely online, please download and fill out this form. Then give it Brian at roundtable or send it to the registrar at the Council Office. This is a one-time opportunity to get your information updated on the "honor system."

You can order from the BCC Scout shop for pickup at our monthly Round Table. Download the order form.

Check out the HAD Google Map (link at the top of the home page, and other places). If your unit is missing, or the location is incorrect, please send us email (below) so we can correct it!

Also the "Nearby Scout Stores" page (in the list at the top left of this page).
