Monthly Open House is Saturday, November 4, 2017, 12 to 3PM

Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM is a presentation by award winning author, Richard Barrios on his recent book Must-See Musicals: 50 Show Stopping Movies We Canít Forget. Richard has authored 3 books that included the award winning A Song in the Dark: the Birth of Musical Film which was awarded the Theater Library Association Prize. He will be speaking at the St. Stephenís Church Hall on Warren Street in Beverly Richard has lectured and presented films at the Smithsonian Institute, the American Film Institute and the Film Forum. He has written articles for the New York Times and appeared in numerous documentary films. He is a talented speaker and will answer questions at the end of his talk. Richard will sell and sign copies of his new beautifully illustrated book. Come on out and prepare to be entertained.

Mark your calendar for our Holiday House Tour on Saturday December 2 from 1 to 6 PM in Beverly and Edgewater Park. The tour will begin at the Riverfront Historical Society in the Beverly Library Annex on Cooper Street. The annex is located next to the library with parking in the back. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door which you can order in advance by calling Linda at 609-351-3532 or Michele at 609-929-3071. You may pick up your tickets at 12 PM at the Riverfront Museum and get your map. We have some amazing homes and historical buildings for you to see including a few on the Beverly riverbank. All proceeds benefit the Riverfront Historical Society, a 501-3 C non profit organization.

Our NEW location is in the old Well's Pharmacy building, also known as the Beverly Library Annex in Beverly, 433 Cooper Street.B>

Come and see our re-organized local history displays. We have made it easier for you to enjoy your visit with us. We have a research area for you to research family history.Come and see our new location before you donate. We treasure all our donations from our friends.

In memory of Bette Sever and Allan Denning, members who passed away recently. We also mourn the loss of our friend Margaret Hicks Morris.

1976 Mission Statement

The purpose of this society shall be to bring together those people interested in history and especially in the history of Beverly, Delanco, Edgewater Park and the state of New Jersey. The societyís major function will be to discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of this area. It will collect printed material such as histories, genealogies, biographies, descriptions. gazettes, directories, newspapers, etc. The society will have available historical information and arouse interest in the past by publishing historical material in the newspaper or otherwise. The society will co-operate with the state and county historical societies to collect and preserve materials of state wide significance so that these materials can be made available to students and scholars.
