    SOCK HOP

Finally, no snow and the dance went off with out any problems. The girls all came dressed in their poodle skirts and pony tails.
The girls danced all night, did line dancing, limbo, and a hula hoop contest.
We would like to thank the girls from troop 355 for coming out and helping with the dance.

    ONE OF OUR OWN

Our own Chelsea Masterson is getting around this past cookie season. First she was featured on our Council website for cookie sales with an article and an interview that was on Headline News. Then on Tuesday, January 19th 7 Chelsea was interviewed on web tv at www.TomsRiver.tv. Than two weeks later she became the interviewer.

Girl Scout National asked her to represent scouting on CBS Early Show.
Now you can go to Girl Scout National website and go to their new blog and you will find our own Chelsea featured there. She was invited onto National Public Radio in NYC to be a judge of "GS Cookie SmackDown". Two food writers for the New York Times made a dish using girl scout cookies in their recipes.
Can't wait to see where we will see her again! (National has her working on another project).

On April 15th, Our Service Unit's monthly meeting was Leaders Appreciation Night. Leaders, Asst. Leaders, and their daughters were invited to a "Mad Hatter Tea Party". Mom's and their daughters wore some crazy hats and sat at beautifully decorated tables and drank tea. We were all served tea by Lori's daughter Jenna, and Fran's daughter Nicole. Ladies you did a great job!
Lori did a fantastic job with making all the wonderful deserts and decorations. Thank you Lori for a lovely evening.

    COOKIE SALES

Cookie Sales are now in the distant past and we would all like to thank Joan for another successful year. Being the Service Unit Product Sales Manger is very time consuming and we want her to know that everyone appreciates her personal time she gave up.

    MY GIRL SCOUT PIN

My Girl Scout pin is small in size,
But so many things are tucked inside.
Courage, honor and fairness, so true,
Make the world a better place...

    That’s what I will do!
It means I am friendly to all who I know,
Considerate and caring wherever I go.

It holds a pledge that I will be strong,
And do what is right when things go all wrong.

It’s sisterhood, adventure, discovery and fun,
It’s knowing much more when the day is done.

If everyone would follow the Girl Scout way,
    Wouldn’t we have a wonderful U.S. of A?

    author Carol Lee Spages

    COOKIE NIGHT RALLY

We had 40+ girls in attendance plus lots of parents!! Everyone had a lot of fun. There was a Tattoo Station where the girls could get a tattoo of our newest cookie "Thank U Berry Munch". There was a table displaying the incentives that the girls could earn.
The girls rotated between the following stations: Cookie Bingo, Musical Cookies, Cookie Twister, Egg Race/Cookie Cheer, and Hot Cookies. After the girls completed all six stations everyone enjoyed a bowl of ice cream and they got to choose which cookie topping they wanted. While the girls were eating their Ice Cream one of the "Cookie Girls" pulled names out of a can for prizes.
We had three featured "Cookie Girls" going around talking to the girls and asking them Cookie Trivia and Safety Questions.
