Welcome to Troop 149 of High Bridge, NJ! For the past 100 years we have striven to fulfill the mission and vision statements of the Boy Scouts of America.

We've taught the scouts the importance of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, as well as to try and incorporate them into their daily lives. Also, we've tried to instill in the scouts a sense of community, the importance of physical well-being, confidence, fun, and to love & respect the outdoors.

Does your son like the outdoors, helping the community, and having fun with his peers? If so Troop 149 is open for boys, ages 11 - 18, to join us as a scout. Simply come to a troop meeting and sign up. For details about troop meetings please see below.

Current News:

Our November campout at Assateague Island National Seashore was very successful. It was well attended with 6 scouts and 2 previous eagle scouts to help guide them. We stopped at the Air Mobility Command Museum on the trip down. The scouts were able to poke around a variety of aircraft such as a B-17 and a C-5.

At the campout the scouts worked on rank requirements, which included cooking, cleaning, planning, leadership roles, and scoutcraft skills. We also went on a quick hike through the dunes. A few scouts did a quick "frigid froggy" in the ocean waves on Friday morning, and they all splashed their feet in the surf that afternoon. A quick visit by the island's wild horses at breakfast prior to departure was enjoyed by all.

On the trip home we visited the NASA Wallops Flight Facility, which is just south of the national park. Despite all the foreboding forecasts, the weather was beautiful the whole weekend, and everyone had a good time.
