Welcome to Troop 149 of High Bridge, NJ! For over the past 100 years we have striven to fulfill the mission and vision statements of the Boy Scouts of America.

We've taught the scouts the importance of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, as well as to try and incorporate them into their daily lives. Also, we've tried to instill in the scouts a sense of community, the importance of physical well-being, leadership, confidence, to love & respect the outdoors, and of course to have fun.

Does your son like the outdoors, helping the community, and having fun with his peers? If so Troop 149 is open for boys, ages 11 - 18, to join us as a scout. Simply come to a troop meeting and sign up. For details about troop meetings please see below.

Current News:

* The troop's annual water campout was on June 9-11. We spent the weekend canoe camping the Delaware River. We packed up our canoes with all our gear Saturday morning and paddled about 14 miles down the river to one of the riverside campsites. After beaching our canoes we unpacked and set up camp. The scouts made dinner and a fire so everyone could relax for a bit. It was a long day, but everyone put in a good effort. In the morning we ate, broke camp, and packed up the canoes again. We set out in the early morning sun and mist on the calm river and paddled the remaining 13 miles down to our extraction point at Kittatinny where our vehicles we're waiting for us. It was another long day, but the scouts pulled through and we made good time. A quick trip to Hot Dog Johnny's capped the excursion before we headed home. The weather was beautiful all weekend, and a good time was had by all.

* The Spring Court of Honor is this Thursday, June 15th at 7:00. Full Class A uniforms are required. Please show up to support your scouts and all the hard work they put in this past year. As this is the last troop meeting of the year we'll be having our end of year party as well. Drinks and snacks will be served.

On Sunday, June 18th is summer camp. If you haven't completed your pre-requisites yet then continue working on them . They must be brought to camp for credit with the merit badge counselors. Also, if you haven't turned in your BSA medical forms (Part C especially) then please do so. Failing to have medical forms will restrict you from being admitted to summer camp.
