COOKIE SALES

Reminder that cookie money is due to Tracy by March 27th meeting (or before).

Changes to note: incentives are cumulative - they are all shown on back of the form - you get each item from the lowest level up to the level you sold to. In lieu of prizes, you can get "cookie credits" which basically is a certificate worth 15 cents per box (if you sell over 106 items) or 6 cents if you sell under 106 items. This replaces the cookie bucks and can be redeemed much in the same way. It does pay a much higher incentive than the old cookie bucks (about 3 times higher).

GIRL'S ACCOUNTS AND FUNDRAISING

Starting this year, we will be handling the girls fundraising different than in the past. Funds were always "shared" for whoever was attending which activity.

As we're approaching older girl status, each girl will now have her "account" within the troop. Basically, a small, equal amount from each girl will be part of the general troop funds. The rest will be put on a girl's account, according to how much she raised. The more a girl fundraises, the more on her account. Each girl's account will vary according to her fundrasing efforts and of course, on what scouting events/activities she "spends" her funds on.

Funds will carry over from year to year for a girl. This should make the fundraising efforts more fair for everyone. Also, a girl who fundraises but doesn't choose to do certain activities, won't be paying for others.

For the nut sale, the first 15 nut items will remain in the troop funds. Everything else she sells, (including magazine orders and the address book) will be placed on her individual account. For cookies, the first 50 items will be part of general funds, etc. If you have questions on this, please talk with Mrs. G or Mrs. Wood.

Recycling Program

We have a program available to us to recycle unwanted cell phones as well as empty ink cartridges from home and office printers. Rather than letting these items end up in landfills, they can either be refurbished or properly recycled. This is a great way to protect our environment and as a bonus, a small donation is made to our troop for these items!

Its easy to collect these items by calling or e-mailing friends, family and neighbors. Parent's co-workers are a great source to contact too. As you collect these items, just bring them to our meetings.

We will now keep track of what you collect and the donations will be put on each girl's account. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. G.
