UPCOMING EVENTS ... Sept. 22 – SILVER AWARD WORKSHOP – 7-8 @ council – a must for anyone considering working on their silver… Sept. 26-27 – BEACH JAM – departing Saturday around 9 a.m. and returning Sunday afternoon - no later than 5 pm Oct. 2 – HALLOWEEN MOVIE & CANDY PARTY – spend this Fri. evening at Council with your GS friends – watching Hocus Pocus and satisfying your sweet tooth. 7:30-9 pm - $8 fee need to Mrs. G by SEPTEMBER 17th Fri. Oct. 9 - service hours - girls will work at the Service Unit event for younger girls - songs & smores - we will leave for camp from Mrs. G's between 4 and 4:30 - should be returning by 10 pm Sat. Oct. 10 - 6-FLAGS CAMPOREE - we will attend the camoree for the day only as we have the event on Friday night. We will leave from Mrs. G's about 8 a.m. "BUILD A BETTER FUTURE INTEREST PROJECT" will be offered on Saturday morning. The remainder of the day into fright fest...will be yours to spend in the park. Oct. 23-25 – T.R.E.C. (Teens Reaching Extra-ordinary Challenges) - This is an all-girl camporee in Rhode Island. The weekend will be full of outdoor skill competitions (fire building, knot tying, compass, outdoor cooking etc.) with the chance to win ribbons! We will camp 2 nights at the GS Camp Hoffman in RH (and yes they have running water and flushable toilets!!!). It should be beautiful camping weather in October... I need to register the troop now - individuals later on....if you are interested in this outing - please advise now. We will then start to meet to learn the skills needed to compete. My guess is the weekend will cost about $20-30 per girl for everything included...cost may go up or down slightly depending on # going, and # of vehicles needed. We will need a parent to drive and come camping with us for this weekend. Oct. 26 – (mon. night) SILVER AWARD WORKSHoP – if you can’t make the Sept. date – then you can attend this evening at council 7-8 pm Parent’s should plan on staying with their daughter to know what the silver award entails! Register with me no later than October 8th Oct. 26 (mon. night) WIDER OPPORTUNITY INFO NIGHT – 7-8:30 @ council – come and find out about the trips in the summer of 2011 – Europe, Grand Canyon or Our Cabana in Mexico – I need to know if your coming to this info night by Oct. 15th. Nov. 3rd – CAMPING, EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND OUTDOOR SURVIVAL INTEREST PROJECTS… spend the day at PAC in Farmingdale and earn all 3 badges… school is closed this week – a great way to fill up one of those days – cost is only $10 – |
