PTA meetings are held in the library at 6:30 PM on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Come meet other parents and teachers as they discuss school affairs and planning for future events for our children. If you are unable to attend a meeting and would like to have some input, please email Paco at VegasPaco@cox.net and I will read your email at the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend, even kids.
DON'T ASK WHAT THE PTA CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THE PTA!
Yearly PTA dues is $7 dollars for an individual membership and $10 dollars for a family membership. Cartwright PTA pays membership dues to the Nevada State PTA and the National PTA. When you join the PTA you are welcome to attend monthly meetings, volunteer for events and maybe even bake some cup cakes. But, joining the PTA doesn't mean you have to dedicate all your extra time. You can choose to be a silent member and pay your dues each year and we won't bother you. The PTA just wants to make all parents feel welcome and we appreciate your dues, donations and time.- Paco Estrada, PTA President
is the practice of people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. Volunteering generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. People also volunteer to gain skills without requiring an employer's financial investment.

Family Game Night was held on Thursday night, hosted by GATE Teacher, Hillary Hassenzahl. An assortment of games were played by Cartwright students. From checkers to twister there were games for all ages. At the end of the night, ten games were raffled off to ten lucky winners. Thanks to the volunteers, the event was a great success. We can't wait until next year. Thanks again to Mrs. Hassenzahl for organizing a fun filled night.
