Red_aht_society.jpgHello from the Queen      We are an OFFICIAL CHAPTER OF THE RED HAT SOCIETY.We formed in February 2009 . We are proud to wear our colors and get together when ever we can. We usually meet the third Thursday of the month and enjoy going to as many other group events as we can.

The Red Hat Society began April 25,1998 when something Magical happened.Sue Ellen Cooper and her friend Linda Murphy had a joke about getting old.Sue Ellen remembered a poem, titled"Warning."
the poem was written by Jenny Joseph and was a joke about getting older. Sue Ellen gave it to Linda with a Red Hat.

and as they say the rest is History.

Recipe for a Happy New Year

Take 12 whole months Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness, hate and jealousy

Make them just as fresh and clean as possible

Now cut each month into 28, 30 or 31 different parts

But don't make up the whole batch at once Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients

Mix well into each day one part of faith, one part of patience, one part of courage and one part of work

Add to each day, one part of hope, faithfulness, generosity and kindness.

Blend with one part prayer, one part meditation and one good deed.

Season the whole with a dash of good spirits, a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play and a cup full of good humor,

Pour all of this into a vessel of love

Cook thoroughly over radiant joy, garnish with a smile and

serve with quietness, unselfishness and cheerfulness,

you're bound to have a Happy New Year

You are one of a kind How rare and wonderful is that flash in the moment when we realize we have discovered a friend" William Rotsler" The Red Hat Society has been a God send for many women. As we grow older we don't have as many opportunity's to meet new people so its wonderful when you join a chapter and all of a sudden have instant sisters. When you travel you can e-mail ahead to a Chapter in the City you are visiting and usually find someone to have lunch with and meet new friends.

We Love Crafts
Most of the ladies in the" Red Hat Mama's " like to craft. From time to time I will post Cards we have made. I will also post things that inspire me from many different sources.Hope you will enjoy.
 Upcoming

December we will have Lunch at the Bellagio.

Words For Women to Live by!
If the Shoe Fits-buy them in every Color

Don't criticize the rooster. If you got up at 4am,you'd crow too

Gossip travels freely, but good news has to be helped along.

Don't get your knickers in a knot; it solves nothing and makes you walk funny.

Good friends are like stars......You don't always see them, but you know they are always there

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

Where we cannot invent,we may at least improve

 The Ultimate Word on aging
With all the books being marketed today on the subject of aging, you wouldn't think that some of the best advice on this subject would come from one of the oldest books around-the Bible. That's right - just look at we can learn from this "over Forty" crowd.

Exercising ,even if it's just walking around in circles, can keep you healthy.

Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.

Deuteronomy 34:7

You are not alone.

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he,I am he who will sustain you.I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Isaiah 46:4 -

I shall wear Purple
When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin sandals and say we've no money for butter.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells and run my stick along public railings and make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick flowers in other people" gardens and learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat and eat three pounds of sausages at a go or only bread and pickles for a week and hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes. But now we must have clothes that keep us dry and pay our rent and not swear in the street and set a good example for the children. We will have friends to dinner and read the papers. But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised when suddenly I am old and start to wear purple.
