The Money
The money here is the Akostikan dollar. It is exchangable with the American units. The coins are: half-pence, Penny (unit of dollar), 2 pence, sixpence, shilling (10 pence), 20 pence, quarter (25 pence), half-dollar (50 pence), the dollar (100 pence)and the 2 dollar coin (200 pence). The notes are 1 dollar, 2 dollar, 5 dollar, 10 dollar, 20 dollar, 25 dollar, 50 dollar, 100 dollar, 200 dollar, the 500 dollar and the 1000 dollar.

Communications and Cross-A-Isle Services
The television network is funded to Isle-n-Isle or Trans-Akostikan Cable. Both have channels and limits.
The computer gives you access to the Akostikan web pages. Kids are allowed to watch programs unappropriated for them in another world. (Violent games, because they must learn how to fight in a more appealing manner.)
There is also the phone. Each number begins with 01-121-XX-XXX-XXXX. The government newspapers provide local information and a neutral view of the gov't parties. They also have transit information. The newspapers are the Akostikan News Observer, and the Akostikan Daily News. They cost $0.25. The Akostikan-Democratic Newspapers are the Democratic Blotter, Port Trade News and the Downtown News Observer. They cost $0.50. Akostikan-Republican News is the only paper that sides with the Akostikan-Republican party. It costs $0.75. Finally siding with the Akostikan-Federalist-Business Paper sides with the Akostikan-Federalist-Business Party. It costs $1.
There is also the postal system. A stamp costs 20 pence. An envelope is sold for 50 pence. Address tax for any area outside your district costs 1 dollar, 1 half dollar, 1 quarter, shilling, sixpence, 1 penny, 1 half pence written $1.865.

The Akostikan Mass Transit Authority:

The Akostikan Metro
Everyone knows it's impratical, I mean for to build a metro system throughout the whole island. We took many years for building and we had 8 lines of underground metro around the whole island and the other islands. This metro system is part of Akostikan Metropolitian Services. The metro is runned by electricity and new cars for the some lines and others use cable pulling wood cars. The tunnels are all well lit by gas lamps. Line 1 runs in from Pentagon Centre to the Fishery. Line 2 goes from the Torture Hill to the Pentagon via. the Northwest lands. The Line 5 makes a loop around the central island stopping at some of the Line 2 stations. This is just part of the system. Dirt excavated help to create 152 miles of land!!! As of now, it is the cheapest way to get around. $1 an adult and $0.50 for kids. Seniors go for free. You can buy your tickets at the ticket vendor machine. Transfers within the same mode are free.

Metro Lines are operated by the AMTA. Fares are mentioned above. They are often classifed with avenue or road it travels under, and use to the letter, now lines are with the numerical system.

Extinct and Forgotten: The First Integrated Bus Service In Akostikan, AkostikBus
There used to be a such service as the AkostikBus. Now there is no such service due to bankruptcy. The old service AkostikBus, things are kind of messed up. The bus service used to have 21 bus lines, all start from the Pentagon, the most notorious bus terminal. The company used to charge $1.50 for adults. $0.75 for kids. The seniors pay $0.75 also, so that is why seniors chose to ride the metro. That is much more expensive and doesn't cover too much territory, the only lines that were useful are 1,2 and 3 the others don't worry about riding them. So that is the reason why that stupid company packed its bags and burned down its signs. You must now use the Akostikan MetroBus Lines that are integrated with Akostikan Metropolitian Services.

The AkostikBus' Survivor: The AML
These are fixed route buses. Hired on by Akostikan Metrobus Lines, they serve 50 routes running on the roads and pay the same fare for the forerunner of these buses, AkostikBus. They allow only a transfer per ride to another bus. A transfer to the subway is $0.30, or $0.15 or $.075.

What Sails, But Expensive: The Ferry
The Ferry, is not so important, it follows the major canals and stuff. There is a line to the Torture Hill. Fares are between $1.50/$0.75/$0.375 to $3/$1.50/$1.

Riding on Akostikan Mass Transit
There are many reasons why use should ride the metro. There are simply so many I can't even count them all.

During rush hours the metro may get crowded. There are no transfers intermodally and for buses you want to transfer from 1 bus to another.

The hours are 24 Hours open and every day for the metro and 600-000 for the bus and ferries.

There are also rickshaw taxis ferrying around and you can find them useful. $1.25 then after each mile it is $0.35. You can hire them at many taxi stations such as: P.H.A, Oxford Channel Square, Sydney Avenue and etc... Just hail one down on the street and the biker will let you use it if he agrees.
Akostikan has lots of roads spanning to every part of the island. New York Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue are one of them. The longest is any road that is named after a city in the United States of America (except for the Piccadilly). Cars carrying goods shuttle up and down them. So do some AML lines. There are trenches along the roads because the old reason was some convicts may want to run and they fall in a hole. Well then the police arrive and they get caught, or when the National Guard arrive. But now, after upgrades and crap, we come to build this new contraption: a raintrap!!! This thing uses rain water that fall into the holes, every mile the holes will connect into a long tube which the tube will drop subterrean and goes to resevoirs.
The Vehicles:
The most famous is the wagon. They are special 4 wheelers that are covered and have special doors. They are also knicknamed the "room" on a four wheeler. Ranging from a Sedan (a small wagon) to a Van (a large wagon), amounts vary. We Akostikaners drive on the left hand side of the road. We are not part of Britan but we just did it do to the street pattern is more compatible to driving on the left side of the road. Other means of transport on the road are the bikes (the most common) and the four-wheelers, not to mention pedestrians and the weird tricycles.

Grade 0: Raw Score: 0. Child has to serve in the military.
Grade 1: Raw Score: 1-10. Child must be placed in Failing Schools. Must have 24 hour accompaniment with mentors.
Grade 2: Raw Score: 11-20. Child must be placed in Failing School, with 12 hour mentor-rounds.
Grade 3: Raw Score: 21-30. Child must be placed in Failing School with optional mentoring.
Grade 4: Raw Score: 31-40. Child should be placed in Failing School, given 2nd chance to take a Re-Test during the summer.
Grade 5: Raw Score: 41-50: Child placed in Failing School. May be asked to take Summer Sessions.

Punishment for Felony
Punishment for crimes are judged by the intensive impact of the crime. Convicts are to go to Temporary Civil Displacement Jails. Then they are to go to the court. If, found guilty they are to go to jail, executed by beheading, hanging, guilotining, or fatal injection. If, innocent they will be lead to the District Court for trial. If they are guilty they are burned, hanged, guilotined, or injected. (Punishments worsen 2x for the slyness of the convict.)If, innocent they are lead to Federal-Municipal Court for trial. If guilty they are hanged, guilotined, or injected. (Punishments worsen 4x for the slyness of the convict.) If, innocent they are lead to Federal Court for trial. If guilty they are guilotined or gassed.(Punishments worsen 8x for the slyness of the convict.) If, innocent they are lead to the Pentagon for trial. If found guilty they are gassed or injected. If innocent they are lead to the White House. If found guilty they will be gassed. If innocent they will be freed by recorded in the Akostikan Felony Punishment Dep't. The AFPD is in charge of executing the criminals.
The following crimes will submit you to execution:

Gay Marriage
Murder
Vandalizing government
Not serving army
Psuedo-coinage
Not paying taxes

The following crimes will submit you to prison:
Rape
Not letting kids going to school
Assault
Drunk driving
Talking on cells during driving
Using profanity in front of Gov't officials
Owning slaves without permission
Stealing gov't property

In Spring 2006, we will have our new Elevated Railway. Built on stone guideways, the elevated railway is to serve many people and to supplement the metro, it is considered a metro service, but it goes under a new title.

Fares will be similar to the metro, however it will not run 24 hours, so special placement buses will operate at night. This is due to potential complaints, and we don't want to hear it of course.

Construction began on January 2003 on a 10 station stretch. Trains will run from Constitution Square to Akostikan Railway Station.

All lines will bear a prefix E for elevated and bare a suffix (number) for their name. Trains will all use the wooden cars and the rope power.

Cable Railways are installed between Triangle and South Downtown. Some will operate in Manlocks and Colosseum. They cost as the same as buses. They are called trams, for some reason. They are powered by an underground rope and rails as guideways.

River Cableways are being installed because bridges are hard to find and river cableways can be efficient. The passengers are taken to a lift till they are carryed to the cableway. There they sit in a gondola which takes them across the river. Interesting!

Akostikan Jargon

The Akostikan Jargon is regular English. Schools teach the real deal English, Jargon is used when people have a convo with each other. It is filled with grammatical errors, cursing, informal words, and heavy Akostikan slang, Cantonese words and accent.
