HOT is a mobile unit that engages homeless individuals on the streets, helping them to move to safer environments and progress towards self-sufficiency. Operational 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, the Homeless Outreach Team and Living Room work together to provide comprehensive services to homeless persons living on the streets in the Bronx.

This Program Provides:
• Food; • Referral to shelter and drug treatment; • Case management and counseling;
• Crisis intervention; and • Emergency medical and psychiatric services.

Directions:
Please Note; entrance is on East 175th Street in between Eastburn and Weeks Avenues off of the Grand Concourse. They are in the basement of the Pilgrim United Church.

Subway: The subway to HOT is the D train, from which you get off at the 174th-175th Street stop. It will leave you right on Grand Concourse. You may also take the #4 Train to the 176th Street station. You then walk uphill on East 176th Street until you reach Grand Concourse.

Bus: You can reach HOT by taking the Bx #1 or Bx #2 bus to East 175th Street. You may also take the #36 bus to Grand Concourse. Then walk three blocks south on Grand Concourse to East 175th Street.

Car: Take the Cross Bronx Express to the Jerome Avenue exit. If you are coming from the southbound side of the expressway, make a left onto Jerome Avenue. You then make an immediate left onto East 174th Street and continue until you reach Weeks Avenue. Make a left onto Weeks and continue until you reach East 175th Street. Turn left onto Weeks and you will see the church.

The Living Room
is a twenty-four hour drop-in facility for homeless men and women 25 years of age and older in the Bronx. Clients are welcomed to spend the night, use the laundry and showers, and receive a warm breakfast and dinner.

This Program Provides:
• On-site medical care provided by Care for the Homeless
• On-site psychiatric services
• On-site harm reduction program
• Daily groups
• Case management services
• Housing, entitlement and drug treatment referrals


Directions:
Subway: Take the #6 train to Hunts Point Ave. Walk underneath the Bruckner Blvd until you reach Hunts Point Ave. Walk three blocks on you left-hand side until you see the big warehouse. Enter the parking lot, walk up the stairs and make a right turn, and walk until you reach the light green door.

Bus: Take the Bx6 bus to Hunts Point Avenue. Follow the same directions as above.

Car: Take the Major Deegan Highway and Exit 1 (Brook Avenue). Follow underneath the Bruckner Expressway. Stay on the right and a turn onto Tiffany Ave. Go one block up on Tiffany Ave. We are on the left hand side across the street from McDonalds. We are inside the big warehouse. Enter the parking lot, walk up the stairs and make a right turn until you reach the light green door.

Promesa's El Centro Drop-In Center's
mission is to provide homeless and/or runaway youths between 13-21 years of age. With counseling interventions that promote positive behavioral changes, self-sufficiency, and self-empowerment.

Outreach and Drop-In Center - Outreach to homeless people in Morningside Heights and Harlem. Drop-in Center provides case management, food, showers, and assessment.

The Streetwork Project is for the Homeless Youths clients ages 13-23 with the following free services: legal, medical and psychiatric services, long-term counseling, individual and group therapy, case management, advocacy, help in obtaining identification, emergency and transitional housing, GED preparation and support, help in obtaining Medicaid and other benefits, hot meals, bag lunches, showers, clothing, wellness activities including acupuncture, yoga, nutritional counseling, HIV prevention counseling, parenting groups, drop-in groups and the opportunity to socialize in a safe, non-judgmental setting. All clients are assigned a primary counselor who can assist them in accessing needed services, including referrals when necessary.

Homeless In-Reach Program For Seniors 60 and Over

Project Find's Homeless In-Reach Program works with homeless seniors. Come in to the Woodstock or Coffeehouse and sign up for a FREE membership. You can use their showers, get some clean clothes, and have a meal. They can help you obtain benefits to which you are entitled, replace lost or stolen identification, get into a detox program, and begin the process of getting housing. You do NOT have to be a resident in one of the housing facilities to join a senior center. You don't even have to live in the immediate neighborhood.

Directions: The major cross streets are Delancey to the south and Houston to the north. To reach The Bowery Mission by subway, take the #6 train to Spring Street or the N or R to Prince Street. The Mission is located several hundred yards to the left and across the street if arriving via Spring St. (to the right and across the street if arriving via Prince St.). It's a red brick building with metal doors. Because parking is limited, we advise that you take public transportation. If you choose to drive, there is a paid parking lot up near Houston and Bowery.

SANCTUARY ages 12-21
The Sanctuary is a shelter for runaway and homeless youth operated by The Children's Village. It is a safe place to stay for teens between 12 and 17 who feel they cannot go home or have no home to go to. In addition to food, clothing, and shelter, The Sanctuary program offers medical care and counseling to help young people in crisis take control of their lives.
For referrals call (914) 593-0667. The goal of the program is to strengthen the family and to work with the teenagers, parents and siblings in a attempt to reunite them. Sanctuary Hotline: 1-888-997-1583.
