| Do you need the CNY Cat Coalition?
CNYCC has NO shelter, nor the resources to take in every abandoned or stray cat. Our objective is to promote spay and neuter of pets, and the management of feral/stray cats in the community to stabilize their population through our trap spay/neuter and vaccinate program. Our approach is the most humane solution to the over population problem, while still providing the best possible care for the cats, no new litters of unwanted kittens are born.
Your actions can make a difference!
We encourage people feeding stray cats to contact CNYCC, our programs are in operation to Help You - Help the Cats in your Area! Prevent a Litter - Fix your Critter Every decision to spay or neuter a pet is a good one.
Spay or neuter surgery is a one-time cost—and we offer it at a low cost. The fee you pay is a bargain compared to the cost of having a litter, two months of pregnancy and another two until the kittens are weaned can add up to significant food, litter and veterinary costs if complications develop. Most importantly, it's a very small price to pay for the prevention of the birth, death and suffering of more unwanted pets.
Low cost assistance with altering and vaccination of your pet cat.
Assistance altering a stray, or an entire litter at low or no-cost.
Access to low-cost nutritious dry cat food.
Direction and support in placing kittens and cats for adoption.
PetSmart and North Shore Animal League are sometimes available as adoption options. (See info links) Space is limited, so don't wait, make every effort to find safe permanent homes for the animals in your care. Alley Cat Allies Shelter Instructions
and/or assistance constructing a shelter for feral cats, or strays that must remain out doors.
The success of our program depends entirely on the participation of concerned citizens, our volunteers and the support of the public.

Spay/Neuter Read about the Benefits of Spay/Neuter. Clinic space is limited, and volunteers transport the cats to and from the clinics, so spay/neuter is available by appointment only. Use the CNY SNAP and SOS links to the left of this page to learn about the clinics
Call the SPAY/NEUTER Message Center at 420-SPAY (7729)
Leave you name, telephone number, best time to reach you and identify whether you have a male, female or multiple cats.
Please keep in mind that we have no paid staff, and receive numerous calls daily. A volunteer will call when available to schedule a clinic date but it could take a week or more.
All of the cats and kittens in our foster care are homeless victims of irresponsible people – people who knew they should sterilize their animals but didn’t view it as a priority, people who just allow their pets to free roam and breed, and others simply abandoned by their people.

Adoption Tell all your friends, family and co-workers that you have kitties available for adoption. Take photos, make posters and distribute them anywhere possible. Use the Best Friends Adoption Poster link to the left of this page to make a printable posterAltered and vaccinated kitties are much easier to find permanent homes for. Responsible pet owners willing pay an adoption fee equal to the clinic expense you incurred, you've saved them the time and trouble. Use this AdoptionApplication as a guild and always always always check references. The most important thing you can do to prevent Animal Cruelty and help reduce overpopulation is
NEVER offer kitties for FREE
Adopting is a big decision. Pet ownership is rewarding, but only if you think your decision through before you adopt.
Take a moment to think - pets require time, money, and long time commitment -15 years' in many cases. Are you ready to make that commitment?
