We made the newspaper

There are also pictures of our fun filled Fashion Show in 2004. It was quite a success. Red Hat Models told us how their outfit came to be. If someone else in the area would like to run another one, please let me know, I will give you some pointers.

How We Began Crimson Red Hatters were formed in August 2003. While I was at a party, a women said she was doing research for her company, on the most popular color hat. She said it kept coming up RED. She knew that could not be the case, but soon found out about the "Red Hat Society". A sentence from her mouth changed my life! It was; "Have you ever heard about The Red Hat Society?!!!!" We started with eight ladies. Our luncheon was at the Milleridge Inn. When we were finished we met a Chapter from Babylon, "The Red Hat Frollies", at the cottage. Over the course of these years we did outings and events, we didn't just do lunch! You can see most of them when you click the link below. In October 2005, at the L. I. Red Hat Convention we decided to change our name to the Crimson Chapeaux

I ___________________ do solemnly swear on my "red hat" that I will do my best to uphold the spirit of the Red Hat Society. I greet this age of "mental pause" with verve, humor and fun. I take my silliness seriously, as it is the comic relief of life. In the Spirit of Friendship and Sisterhood, I join my Red Hat and Pink Hat sisters as we go for the Gusto Together! Beneth our frivolity we share a bond of affection, common life experience and a genuine enthusiasm toward the future. I promise to regularly practice having fun, do those things I have waited to do while I paid my dues in life, and wear jewelry til I fall over. I promise never, ever to wear knee highs with shorts and to dispel the notion a Woman My Age is OLD! This I pledge in the spirit of the Red Hat Society as envisioned by the Exalted Queen Mother - Sue Ellen Cooper - and with a "Crimson Chapeaux" Hattidude!
