Summer's Here
So let's get outside & have fun!
Parade Season is over and we're on to our summer activities. Go for the Gold at Wantagh Park, Airpower Museum, Sailing Trip, Ducks Game, Keep watching for those emails!
And don't forget Cub Parent Weekend! Guaranteed to be a fun and easy camping experience.

Our October Pack Night was a Halloween extravaganza with activities presented by each den. Lots of candy and we even got to wrap up some parents like mummies!

Our September Pack Night "Cub Scout Express" included a visitor from the Long Island Rail Road to talk about trains! Also rank advancements for all boys going up in rank and a welcome ceremony for our new Tigers and their adult partners! It was great! We also registered several new boys into our pack.

Pack of the Year of the Pequott District!!!

June 8th at the Pequott District's Annual Dinner, Our Pack was awarded the high honor of being chosen as Pequott's Pack of the Year, over the 23 packs in our district. This comes not from the work of any individual, but the combined efforts and enthusiasm of all our leaders & families! Thank you everyone!

We Have a New Sponsoring Organization!

We are very proud to have American Legion Post #1066 as the sponsoring organization for Pack 590! 2006-07 was a great year for our pack. Not only did we grow in size, we grew in spirit! And we earned the Pequott Pack of the Year award!Thanks to all our loyal pack families for a great year of fun and we can look forward to even more in 2007-08!

Fundraising

We did very well with the fall popcorn sale! Thanks to all who participated. This fundraiser helps our pack as well as our council. And the popcorn tastes good too! Big thanks go to our Popcorn Kernal, Mike Vitucci who kept it all organized very well. Our Show & Sell at the train ststion and at Iavarone Bros were huge successes! Since a portion of each scouts' popcorn sales went into an individual account for their use, keep this in mind when you need to pay for trips. You can use that money to pay for any pack events including Science Museum, Ducks games, Riverhead Raceway or trips like that.

We also had a Bake Sale & raffles at the Pinewood Derby. Thanks for your support!

A big "Bully!" goes out to Hugh Blando for stepping up to the challenge. If you have an idea for a trip, we welcome both your input & involvement.

October 17- 19, 2008 is our trip to Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos! It's going to be great!

Our sleepover at the Long Island Science Museum is almost here. Ask anyone who went & they'll tell you how much fun they had. You can see pictures from last year in the history section of this website. Check them out at http://www.smli.org/
