Pack 590 - Best Float July 4TH 2009

In 2006, Pack 590 was awarded the runner-up award for Pequott District Pack of the Year. After earning this, we resolved to push hard and do better next year. And with a lot of hard work by all our leaders & parents & scouts, we earned the 2007 Pequott District Pack of the Year award.

In 2008, The American Legion awarded us the Pack of the Year award for all of the Theodore Roosevelt Council/Nassau County.
We were recognized by the Oyster Bay Town Board with a very impressive citation.

Pack 590 has been around for a long time. 50 years in fact! Here's our current charter for the 2008-2009 program.

We're proud of our participation in the local parades. AmVets Post #88 has given us an award the last few years for our participation in Massapequa's Loyalty Day Parade.

We've built floats for the local parades since 2005. In 2008 we marched with our "Get Hooked on Scouting" float and won the Best Float award in the Massapequa Park Independance Day Parade!

We're also proud of our fantastic high tech computerized Pinewood Derby! We invite local politicians and here are some of their recognitions. Here are Citations from Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi in 2007 & 2008 and a letter from NY Governor Elliott Spitzer in 2008:

We have participated at Webelos Woods for many years. In 2006 with the help of Bonnie Worme's costuming, we earned an award for the best costumes!

Pack 590 is often mentioned in the local papers!
