El Son de Las Pavas ("the beat of the Hat")Hi, we are "El Son de Las Pavas" (which means "the beat of the Hat"). We are an amazing group of Latina women, each with our very own special sazón ("flavor"). Most of us have been friends for a very long time. At this time of our lives, the majority of us have raised our children, are grandmothers and have been through many trying times. We, together have decided to turn the pages of time into a new and different chapter, hence the beginning of this chapter of the Red Hat Society called "El Son de Las Pavas". We were our Red Hats and Pink ones, with lots of orgullo ("pride").

(How we got to be)
One day a couple of us went out to dinner to celebrate one's 50th Birthday. It so happened that the gift to the birthday girl was a "red hat" and the inside label said "Official Hat of the Red Hat Society"

La Promesa (Our Pledge)
I, ____ have accepted the invitation to become a member of the Red Hat Society's "El Son de Las Pavas" Chapter and have taken on the name of "Sista ______."
I believe in the "disorganization of women" and will always be in full regalia at all events, functions and meeting.
I believe aging should be anticipted with excitement, not something to dread, and what a better way to age than sharing quality time with a group of amazing women. Our main goal is to have fun among women whom we consider "Sistas."
I promise to say goodbye to burdensome responsibilities and obligations during time spent with fellow "Sistas." All of my life I have done for others, this is the time to do for myself <> By joining the "Red-Gloved Hands" ...,
I pledge to spread love, laughter and joy among these women, whom we have unconditionally<> chosen to spend time with.
I pledge to be truthful and honest to "El Son de Las Pavas."
