Lest We Forget The Empty Chair
A chair sits empty in the station downtown,
In a place where the boys like to gather round.
When the flames are extinguished and the smoke has drifted,
It’s where we find comfort, our spirits are lifted,
But today it is quiet, a sadness sets in;
Thinking of the ones gone, by sitting in their chair and remembering the tales that they would spin.
We think back on their stories when they answered the call,
And we’re blessed with the memories they’ve left with us all.
They gave so many years of their lives to this town,
Many fought for our country, willing to lay their lives down.
We thank God for their years and for all the brave men,
who served loyally beside them.
Now the final siren has sounded, so sleep now dear friends,
We wish you peace and Godspeed as your earthly journey ends.
Dedicated to all our dearly departed Brother Firefighters,
Until we meet again...
