Stop by to see the firehouse. The firemen have been working very hard the last several weeks, painting, new lighting. If you weren't able to make the brunch, stop in for a tour. The facility looks bright and clean.

Second Full-Column Section
As president of the Hillsdale Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, I would like to take a moment to clear up some misconceptions. We have recently had members of the auxiliary thinking that the behavior and philosophy not being what they thought it was when it was started. There is nothing that could be further from the truth. We are and always will be here to support our firemen in all of their trials and tribulations. In whatever capacity that may be. Some things have happened in the past few months that have tested that philosophy. When a person feels that they are above reproach and that they can say and do anything without consequences, it takes another to let that person know that it is unacceptable. And that is what has happened. A fireman thought that is was okay to belittle and defame the character of social members, who are also auxiliary members. Like many companies in the country, we have a harassment policy in place and the social members, 1 being myself, exercised our right to file a complaint against this individual. Things that were said should never be said about anyone, and I don't feel I or my fellow auxiliary members, firemen- social or active should be slandered as we have been. We will always be here to support the fire company in anyway that we can, but we DEMAND the RESPECT that is due us, no matter how we serve. If anyone wishes to talk to me, I will be happy to answer any questions they may have. Please feel free to call me- 929-0049 anytime. Respectfully, Wina Briggs, President, Hillsdale Fire Co.#1 Ladies Auxiliary
