Our Founder At 23 years, Masiko James is a student of civil engineering at Makerere University Kampala in Uganda. Having lost both his parents due to HIV/AIDS, James was greatly demoralised that at one time life to him was useless with no hope for the future. At such a critical time, he went through a state of great endurance with no peace of mind. All seemed to be at crossroads with mixed feelings of purposelessness and hopelessness. At the peak of it all, James desire to be loved coupled with peer pressure in his high school, led him to acts of alcoholism and sexual promiscuity. This was a deep moment of moral degradation in his life. Having been there and done that, there was still a deep longing for peace of mind and love in his heart. Of this, James says that reality of life had caught up with him. This made it clear to him that he had taken the wrong path. In 1999, James received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and saviour and from that time he says life has never been the same again. Over the years, James developed a great compassion fo the youth of this day. Currently, at Makerere University, he is a youth leader at Makerere Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Martin Ssempa. He is also a peer educator and a volunteer Director of Live Hope Foundation. James strongly believes that, Time is now to mobilize, envision, train, equip, motivate and empower youth to capture God’s global vision and plan for them in living and impacting their generation for Christ. |
