Our MOPPETS program provides care for children ages birth through five years old. While mothers attend the MOPS meeting, the children enjoy a program designed to meet their needs. The children are divided into age groups and are involved in planned activities that provide social growth and spiritual enrichment. Games, stories, crafts, and play enhance their physical and creative development.

Benefits for MOPPETS

  1. Social growth through group activities and play.
  2. Spiritual growth through Bible stories and values relevant to their lives.
  3. Physical, emotional, and creative development through crafts, games, snacks, and songs.

Infants are welcome to stay with their mother, but childcare is available for infants 6 weeks and up.

MOPPETS General Policy Details

  1. Moppets serves children 6 weeks and older. Out of consideration for other moms, please enroll your baby in Moppets by 3 months, if nursing is needed, feel free to go as needed, or a teacher will get you. We love our kids, but we all need a break!
  2. Drop off: Please limit this time to 5 minutes. Separation may cause anxiety, but this will be alleviated by the caregivers. We will notify you of any problems that persist more than 10 minutes.
  3. Sign in: Each week there will be a sign in sheet in each of the rooms where you’ll be dropping off your child. Please note any new information that would be helpful to the teachers. Also, please place a name tag on your child’s back.
  4. Items from home: Please remember to clearly label all items from home. If using a pacifier, please have it on a holder.
  5. Diapers/toilet training: Please use disposable diapers. If training, bring a change of clothes or two. Don’t be afraid to leave helpful instructions.
  6. Well child policy: If your child is having cold symptoms (i.e. runny nose or eyes, fever, unexplained rashes, etc.) within 48 hours of MOPS or has been on an antibiotic for LESS than 24 hours, please do not allow your child to attend Moppets that week. Out of consideration for the other mothers and children, please don’t bring your child to MOPS.
  7. Pick up: Please be sure to be prompt so that your child does not become anxious as others are leaving. If you need to leave early, come to the classroom door and the teacher will bring your child to you, so as not to confuse the other children. Children can ONLY be picked up by you unless the teacher knows ahead of time. Lastly, initial the sign in sheet next to your child’s name to acknowledge that they were picked up.
  8. Because our child care givers are volunteers, please do not bring more than 2 children that are not your own.

Always feel comfortable asking questions or expressing concerns as soon as they occur.
You have the right to know what is happening with your child!
