Amicettes and Pearlettes

AMICETTES:

In 1970 at the 50th Anniversary Boule, the Amicettes were added to Zeta structure as the Junior High Auxiliary. The Amicettes are young girls (ages 9 - 13 years old). Their emphasis is on community service and just plain fun.

These young ladies under the direction of local Zetas are engaged in a variety of educational, leadership, service and social activities such as March of Dimes, Support A Connection: Breast & Ovarian Cancer Awareness, UNICEF, Feeding the homeless and Christmas Caroling.

In the year 2005, the Amicettes received awards for: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Atlantic Region Oratorical Contest, 1st and 3rd place for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Scholarship Bowling Tournament. Two members were elected Atlantic Region Officers: Amicette Chevon Sims, President and Amicette Symone Lassic, Vice President and they Praise Danced for the International Grand President of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Ms. Barbara C. Moore

This group also sponsored the 1st Blue Revue for the local sponsoring chapter, which was a huge success. Every Amicette was crowned and awarded a trophy. Tickets were sold out and all proceeds went to Department of Social Services: Adopt A Family. We adopted a family of six for the Christmas holiday and purchase all the trimmings of Christmas. Lastly, our one fundraiser of the year: Black Expressions Holiday Cards & Gifts helped us raise money for our Auxiliary jackets.

This group serves wherever youth are needed to facilitate Zeta programs.
Our motto is: "We Serve Others Because We Care".

The Amicettes

PEARLETTES:

Pearlettes are girls under 9 years old who are mentored by ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority to become outstanding leaders in their own community. These young ladies along with the Amicette Youth Group have the desire to emulate Zeta=s ideals of community service, friendship and elegance. These talented young ladies stand out and are leaders amongst their peers and excel academically, socially and are in tune with their community needs.
