It was a little disappointing, to say the least that all the chapters did not take part in this competition. Being an IAAP member is a great way to keep up in today’s professional fields of endeavor. Members who take part in their chapter activities have the advantage of advancing their knowledge and skills. Working together, to meet whatever goals the chapter is willing to accomplish. Now, this is where a chapter newsletter comes in to play by bringing and focusing on these accomplishments and the members who are making it happen. Also, gathering information from IAAP, Northeast District, New York State Division and other outside sources. It’s a chapter newsletter chairman’s opportunity to report the news. Now, where else can you learn this trade? It has been a privilege working on the newsletter awards program this year. It was a great learning experience reading the very informative news these chapter newsletter chairmen included; not only on their chapter’s activities, but on other interesting subjects as well. Each of them is to be commended for their diligence in reporting the various activities and updates in IAAP. The time is drawing near to the NYSD Annual Meeting in May and then a new IAAP year, although I don’t know where the time has gone! It’s a start of new beginnings, new roles for members in the New York State Division and Chapters. Whoever decides to meet the challenge of chairing the NYSD Newsletter Committee will find it both educational and rewarding. Go for it by “Energizing Ahead… Moving Forward” and enjoy the ride! Klausman Scholarship, the Board has proposed the following fund raising efforts: (1) Contributions in honor or memory of a member who is living or has passed.
