Minutes 10/28/09 The minutes of the regular stated meeting of Chenango Chapter #135 opened on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 with Worthy Sister Marge and Right Worthy Brother Tony presiding in the East, with 20 members present. The Chapter was opened in short form. The worthy Matron greeted all. Our Patron, Toni Calisi, reminded the members of Chenango Chapter #135 of proper procedures and etiquette with regards to speaking in the chapter room and knowing the ritual for meetings. Please review your ritual prior to meetings and if you have questions, please ask our Patron. With the Roll Call of Officers the following were absent: two trustees, the Historian, Warder, Sentinel, and Musician. Sickness/Distress/Joy: S Nancy Birtch was in surgery and will require night dialysis. WS Bonnie will get her address for the membership. Sister Joan told us about the girls’ travel hockey group in Florida.
Old Business: The Purple Club Dinner had a $200 profit due
to donations and everyone’s help in the kitchen. There was a $50.00 donation and RWB Toni and
RWS Yvonne helped prepare the chicken cordon blue. Thanks to everyone who volunteered their
time. The BCC Stars luncheon netted a
$244.00 profit and many leftovers, which we enjoyed at a casual dinner
tonight. Thanks to all who donated food
items! The leftovers were wonderful! New Business: A date to remember is November 1st
District Brunch at the Silo at 1PM. Saturday, November 14, at 3PM will be our installation of new officers with tea sandwiches/finger foods, cheese/crackers, desserts, etc. OES members are to be at the Masonic Temple at 2:30 on Saturday. Long dresses are required, any color. We will have practice for installation at our next meeting, November 11, and, there will be a sign-up sheet to bring refreshments to our November 14 Annual Meeting. Reminder that the slate of new officers will be listed on our website. An Historian is needed so anyone who is interested should see S. Carol Sue Rosenkrantz. New Business: A motion was made by RWS Yvonne and seconded by S Carol Sue to help S. Nancy Birtch with her OES dues. RWB Toni, WB Lou and RWS Shirley will help for dues for 2008-2009, and 2010. Motion passed. WS Betty read a request by MWS Ellie for money for the Christmas recreation fund. A motion was made by RWS Yvonne and seconded by WS Bonnie to send $50.00. Motion passed. RWS Yvonne discussed the OES Cheer Fund and a motion was
made to send $35.00 to this fund with members contributing what they can and
seconded by WB Dennis. Motion passed. OES
members who would like to send a donation of their own can bring money to our
next meeting and give it to WS Betty, Secretary, and we will add it to the
$35.00. S Teresa said that we have over $3,000 in our checkbook. District reception will be Sunday November 8, in Maine, at 2PM. We will meet at the Masonic Temple in Greene at 1PM. RWS Bobbie explained the DDGM and DGL’s colors will be lavender and green and the grapevine will be the emblem with the bird as the symbol. Tioughnioga Installation of Officers will be Tuesday, November 17, at 3PM. Lafayette Installation of Officers will be Thursday, November 19, at 7:30PM. Otseningo Installation of Officers will be Saturday,
November 21 at 7:30PM. Our Christmas Party will be December 9th at
6PM with a dish to pass. Good of the order was $39.05. Happy Birthday’s to October birthday members! Have a great year! Annual dues are due after November 1. RWS Yvonne explained what our OES dues pays for, including rent of $1,000 for the year, Grand Chapter’s per annum fee, District Deputy pay, utility bills, etc. The Chapter closed in good order, with the new officers
