The minutes of the regular stated meeting of Chenango Chapter #135 opened on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 with Worthy Sister Marge and Worthy Brother Tony presiding in the East, with 18 members present.

Sickness/Distress/Joy:  S Mairi will be going to the University of Glasgow for her archeology degree.  Congratulations! Sister Carol Ann will be having surgery on her eyes at Lourdes Hospital.  Sister Bonnie mentioned that Nancy Birtch will be having kidney dialysis.  Dick Wiser is at Wilson Hospital, recovering from complications and can now receive visitors.  John Whitbeck’s wife, Joan, had surgery and hopefully we will be getting more information soon. Ray Call had surgery and is recovering.

Old Business:

BCC Stars’ dinner will be Sunday, October 25.  Toni will be here at the temple at 11:30 and needed are desserts, pies and cakes.  Also Toni asked for volunteers for kitchen help at 10:00-10:30, servers and clean up.  There will be snacks of cheese, shrimp, and finger food and the main entrée is chicken cordon bleu, with potatoes, biscuits, veggies and pies and cakes for dessert.

The Purple Club Dinner (for Past Grand Officers) is Friday, October 23 and volunteers are needed to help cook, serve and clean up. The social half hour is at 1:30 and dinner begins at 2 PM.  People should be here at 10 AM to begin the preparations.

WS Bonnie gave the Applefest report:  888 dumplings were made.  Put on your calendars for September 2010, that Applefest is always the last Saturday in September. $2559.00 was brought in with  $559.03 for supplies and $204.00 for sales tax, giving us a profit of $1847.00.  Thanks to Bonnie, Bob and all the volunteers who helped with the apple peeling, making of the dumplings, set up on Friday and dumpling sale on Saturday.  This is our main fundraiser, so every person’s contribution of time adds to our treasury.  Thank you!!!!! The complete report is on our website.

RWS Shirley gave the Grand Chapter report and the complete report is also on our website.  Thank you Shirley for all your information on the happenings at Grand Chapter. Next year, October, 2010, Grand Chapter will be at the Regency in Binghamton:  October 14, 15, 16, and 17 with the Testimonial Dinner October 13.

Thanks to RWS Bobbie and RWS Carol Lang for their efforts with the Hospitality Room.  Also RWB Toni and RWS Marion offered their room for respite and food!  Thank you!

We continued our program of Draping of the Altar for Wilma Monroe who died August 23, 2009.
