Minutes 02/13/13 February 13, 2013 The regular stated meeting of Chenango chapter No. 135, O.E.S was held in its rooms Wednesday evening at seven o’clock with Connie Cazer, WM and Dennis Youngs, WP presiding in the East. Chapter opened in Ample form. The WM greeted officers, members and visitors who were all dressed in red for Valentine’s Day. Courtesies of the East were extended to RW Sherry Behee, District Deputy Grand Matron of the Broome Chenango District. On Role Call of officers the following were reported absent, conductress, RW Bonnie Cobb substituting, Flag Bearer, 1 trustee, musician, warder and sentinel. Minutes of the previous meeting were not read for information. S Claire fell and broke bones in her foot which is now
infected and is now in Wilkes Bare in a nursing home. Flowers were sent to her from the chapter
when she was still in The treasurer reported the following report $1,416.73 checking account 1,849.14 Savings account 5,024.30 CD which has been rolled over UNFINISHED BUSINESS WS Carol Rosencrantz gave her report from Grand Chapter 2012. Report was accepted and will be spread in full upon the minutes. Instead of having secret pals we will give cards randomly and have Secret Santas at Christmas time. W Carol gave a report on the cookbook project for S Linda. The committee will meet soon. Recipes are still being accepted WS Betty reported that the quilt now has 50 blocks and still working on it. The home is still asking for BINGO prizes from Chapters. A list of suggestions is on our web site. On a motion by the secretary, seconded by RWS Bonnie Cobb and carried, the chapter will send $250 to Grand Chapter for the Disaster Fund. A clip board is being circulated with a list of those signing up for refreshments. RW Bonnie gave a brief report on the Ritual Review being conducted by MW Les Morrell and his committee. This review is ongoing and members are asked for their input. NEW BUSINESS Reported that as a trustee she is hoping the Lodge and OES can do more things together. She urged our members to check out the new Fire Escape. COMMUNICATIONS Walk-A-Thon is May 25. Will we give to this fund? B/C district Official Visit of the MWGM and MWGP is Saturday May 11 at the Binghamton River Walk Hotel. RW Sherry is asking for Raffle Baskets for a fund raiser. The GM’s cruise is September 2-7 Thank you notes were read from W Marge, RW Tony, RW Marion and W.H. Alberry society for our contribution to Save The Home On a motion by RW Lou second by W Carol the follo9wing bills will be paid: Postage $27 Sunshine (Claire & Marion) 66.94 Emergency Relief (Marge) 200.00 Secretary supplies 2 PM pins, 1 service pin 57.52 W.H. Alberry – Disaster Fund 250.00 Courtesies of the East were extended to: 6 past grand officers, 2 past matrons and patrons Attendance award won by S. Ellen The WM gave a brief history of Valentines Day and how it is observed in various countries. ‘ At the next meeting the password will be given at the door - be prepared. It is also Pajama Night.
