The regular stated meeting of Chenango chapter No. 135 O.E.S was held in its rooms Wednesday evening at 7:00.The Chapter opened in short form and the WM greeted 22 officers and members.

On role Call of officers the following were reported absent, Assoc Patron, 2 trustees, musician, color bearer and the point of Esther.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read for information.

Under sickness and distress, WS Marge reported that she sent cards to Lois Bittinger and Pat Berg.   WS Bonnie reported that S. Ann was absent tonight as her mother Delores Smith, was taken to the hospital.   Tests are being run.    RWS Jill Julian reported that WS Pauline Bowen would have liked to be here tonight but she is still having chemo treatments and hopes to be able to attend soon.    The WP and S. Connie have joy!!.   The Journal/Program for the grand matron’s visit is done.     RWB Lou thanked Connie for all the work she did on the program.

Our new members by affiliation, were escorted East and the WP presided over the ceremony of Affiliation.

RWB Larry Smith and RWS Vickie Smith,  RWS Jill Julian and  WS Rena  Henderson, signed the chapter by-laws and were welcomed into membership by the chapter.

            UNFINISHED BUSINESS      100th Anniversary  -  The WM asked for volunteers to head up the committee for our celebrations.    She especially wants past matrons and patrons.   Volunteering were; WP, WS Betty, RWS Shirley, S. Secretary, WS Carol R., and S. Joan.    We need to set a date to meet immediately after the Grand Matron’s Visit on the 19th of March.

            S. Secretary reported that there is a sign up sheet circulating for providing food and workers for the Purple Club Dinner on Friday, March 18.

            Date to remember:   The Silent Auction is April 27 with the proceeds going to Make A Wish Foundation.

            S. Secretary reported that the New Constitutions and inserts have been received and those who ordered personal  constitutions owed $10.00.

            The Grand Matron’s visit to our district is Saturday March 19.  Rehearsal is Sunday, March 13 at 2 o’clock.

Those attending meet at the temple at 1:00 and we will carpool to the holiday inn.   Sisters Linda and Nan brought out Lemonade Theme Basket that will be raffled at the Grand Matron’s Visit.     It is loaded and very attractive.   The WM thanked Nan and Linda for their great effort in this project.

            NEW BUSINESS:    Honorary Memberships:   The WP wearing his DGL hat proposed to the chapter that an honorary membership in CC #135 be given to the MWGM and MWGP when they visit B/C district.    He also proposed to give an honorary membership to the district DDGM, his counterpart on the occasion of her official visit to the Chapter.    On a motion by the WP and seconded by WS Carol R., the chapter voted to grant these honorary memberships.

            There was no Family Day report.     On a motion by WS Betty and seconded by S. Joan Crumb, the chapter voted to donate a $15.00 item to the Children’s Share Booth on Family Day.

            The Past Matron’s and Past Patron’s need to set a date to meet to discuss line officers for 2012.  This needs to be done after the Grand Matron’s Visit.     The WP says he loves to go to Bonnie’s for Breakfast or lunch and then have a meeting.     It was agreed that we would go to Bonnie’s for lunch at 1:00 and then have a meeting.   The Date to be announced.

            The craft committee for our District meeting needs to set a date to meet; Sisters Clair, Joan, Linda, Nan and WS Carol Sue.

            Our next meeting is March 23 and is Night Out.   We will open Chapter, have a short meeting and Close Chapter.    Then retire to Baron’s Inn where we will enjoy dessert, and beverage, which will be funded by the Bakeless Bake Sale donations.     There will be a cash bar available.

            COMMUNICATIONS:   We have an invitation to the Grand Matron’s visit to Onondaga District on April 30 at the American Legion Post #787 in Cicero.   Dinner is $28.00.    Anyone wishing to attend, please see the Secretary.    RWS Shirley reported that the invitations are out to the Cortland Madison Grand Matron’s visit. on April 16.     Dinner is $29.00.

            WS Bonnie our communication person, asked our new members to give her their email address so that she can keep in touch with them.

            S. Connie shared that she has met S. Kathy Hadac.    They are both working at Price Chopper in Sidney.    S. Connie brings greetings from Kathy and hopes that she will soon attend a meeting.

            S. Joan and her family are excited about her granddaughter Anna Marie, a student at Syracuse U., going with the girls field hockey team to Argentina for practice and competition.

            RWS Shirley reported that the next Field Day committee meeting is at Bonnie’s on March 26.

            The Attendance Award was won by the WP.   March birthdays are S Connie Smith, S.Becky Burrows and S. Rena Henderson

            A bit of the Irish in Honor of St. Patrick.     The following 5 items are gifts from Ireland:

            1.         Irish Coffee

            2.         The abominable Snowman

            3.         Wind

            4.         Several USA President have Irish roots

            5.         The Ejector Seat

The WM gave everyone present a green necklace to help us celebrate St. Patrick.     She thanked everyone for wear’in the Green.

            The WP was asked to speak about things he knows about!   He thanked Sisters Nan and Linda for preparing the Theme Basket to be raffled at the GM’s visit.    He welcomed our new members.     He again  thanked Connie for her hours spent on the Journal/program.

            Courtesies of the East were extended to 6 past grand officers and 5 past matrons and patrons.

            Next meeting reminders.      March 23 – night out
