The minutes of the regular stated meeting of Chenango Chapter #135 opened on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 with Worthy Sister Marge and Worthy Brother Tony presiding in the East, with 18 members present.  This meeting’s agenda was the peeling of apples, in preparation for the Applefest in Greene, September 26.

 

Sickness/Distress/Joy:  Dick Wiser was mentioned as having surgery and at our next meeting we will have more information as to his surgery and recovery.

 

Our next meeting, October 14, 2009 will be the Draping of the Altar, in memory of Wilma Monroe.  Dress will be dress/casual, however, no jeans.

 

The main business of the meeting concerned the Applefest:

• The cost of the apples was $12.75 per bushel and we bought 4 bushels
• Costs of $50.00 to be paid to Methodist Church, Greene
• Apple peelers are available at Maine’s and four new peelers were bought
• Cost apples were set with a 6 pack and a 15 pack available
• Set up on Friday between 5-6 PM to unload chairs, tables, grills, propane tanks
• Motion made to pay bills, 1^st made by Marion C. and 2^nd by Carol R. – passed.

 

A letter will be sent to Laura Phillipson for her withdrawal from OES.   If any members request a withdrawal from OES, they can be reinstated, but it is necessary to hold on to the withdrawal notice as proof of prior membership.

 

Shirley Detweiler agreed to give the Grand Chapter Report, after Grand Chapter.  Thanks for volunteering to do this.
