            The regular stated meeting of Chenango Chapter #135 was  held in its rooms on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 in the evening with WS Marge Sampson and WB Anthony Calisi presiding in the East.  The WM greeted 13 officers and members to our Pajama Night on a wintery day.

            The Chapter opened in short form.

            On Role Call of Officers, the following were reported absent:  Assoc Patron, Assoc Conductress, two trustees, Chaplain, Warder, Sentinel, Color Bearer, Musician, and points of Adah, and Electa.

            Minutes of the previous meeting were not read for information.

            Under Sickness and Distress the following was reported:  WS Jane continues to be very weak.  Her tumor on the lung is the size of a grapefruit.  She is having radiation treatments every day and Chemo once a week. Jane’s father. Gwen Orr is also having medical problems and members of the family are now in N. Carolina.  It was decided that we would each bring the amount that we would spend on a dinner out to the next meeting and send to Jane and Bob.  Bills are mounting and a great concern.  The chapter may also contribute toward this fund.  The family is planning a fundraiser.    S Darlene is having heart problems and has been out of work for 3 weeks.  Cards were circulated for Darlene and Jane.  S Becky’s overall health is failing and she needs more and more help.  She is unable to drive and the family has made arrangements for her to be taken to Bonnie’s each day for breakfast and lunch.  It was reported that S. Thelma Hogg  of Round Hill chapter is undergoing treatment for Cancer.  RWS Shirley’s joy is her oldest grandson turns 18 today.  S Becky reported the joy of a planned trip soon to Costa Rica to visit a daughter.  Her sister will accompany her.  The WP announced that he is scheduled for complete knee replacement in early April.

            UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  RADA products can still be purchased on the internet.  We still need more books for the DDGM’s district project.  The secretary will purchase books with the $37.00 plus other donations that have been set aside for books.  The WM has the Grand Matron’s special pin for sale.  On a motion by the secretary, second by RWS Marion, and carried, the Chapter will help the Masons with the LP gas bill by paying ½..  The Master and treasurer have been notified of this decision.

            NEW BUSINESS:  Our next meeting is March 12, The Wearing of the Green.  WS Betty and WB Lou are on refreshments.  The Chapter will do the Purple Club Dinner on April 25.  The WM reported that she has been asked by the Masons if the Chapter would help financially and with hands with the Easter Egg Hunt.  Several indicated that they would help with the hunt.  On a motion by the secretary, seconded by RWS Shirley and carried, the chapter will help with the community Easter egg hunt with $50.00.  The Master and treasurer of Lodge of been advised of this action.  S. Becky said her daughter, Jenny will be attending camp Turk this summer.  On a motion by the secretary, seconded by WP and carried, the chapter will help Jenny with a donation of $100.00.  It was announced that Elizabeth Cobb who has been to Camp Turk for several years, has been accepted as a Counselor in Training for the 2008 girls camp.  Because of the WP’s impending surgery and the fact that our Assoc Conductress, S. Laura cannot be at our scheduled Official Visit, the WM will contact the Deputy to request a later date.  Now is the time to get those petitions for membership in.

            COMMUNICATIONS:  Request from Diana Simpson, DDGM for the District per capita of $1.50 each member or $79.50.  Grand Chapter – both constitutional amendments were adopted.  Les Stockwell requesting help for girls attending Camp Turk for the 2008 session.
