The Annual Meeting of Chenango Chapter No. 135, O.E.S. was held in its rooms Wednesday evening at 6:30 with RW Shirley Detweiler, Matron and RW Larry Smith, WP presiding in the East.   Chapter opened in short form.   The WM greeted 27 officers, members and visitors.

On Role Call of Officers the following were reported absent, Secretary, RW B. Cobb substituting, A. Marshal, Assoc Patron, and Ruth absent from her station.  S Secretary bowed in late.

 

Minutes of the previous meeting were not read for information.

 

Under sickness and distress the following was reported:    B. Ray Call of Trinity Chapter died on Nov. 2.   S. Connie had gall bladder surgery, Tudy Pixley’s son died suddenly of a heart attack.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

The Purple Club dinner netted $183.17.   Sister Secretary thanked S. Wanda and S.Ellen for helping with the dinner.   We did make a good team.

 

At the last meeting we voted to send $50.00 to the District gift fund at the home.  This fund is not going to be done this year and the check was voided.  A motion was made by RWS Carol Lang and seconded by the Worthy Patron that we send $50.00 to Bonnie’s Angels and $50.00 to the home recreation Fund.  The motion was carried.

 

There was no Grand Chapter report given.

 

RW Bobbie, the elected Matron for 2012 thanked everyone for their support.   A Special thanks to go to Yvonne Cobb, Secretary for keeping everything in order.  Our meetings were very smooth.  Yvonne Kept everything on the right track.    RW Shirley also thanked everyone who served as Matrons and Patrons during the year.

 

S Linda reported on the Bonnie’s Angels cookbook and said she wants 400 recipes.  She has 247 so we have a ways to go.   She asked all to please help reach the goal.  The deadline for submitting recipes is January 15, 2013.

 

WS Betty reported that the quilt for Bonnie’s Angels is coming along well.

 

WS Marge reported that she has a hand embroidered Table Cloth to donate to Bonnie’s Angels and says it is beautiful.

 

 

 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

 

The list of officers for 2013 was presented.    There were no nominations from the floor.  RW Bonnie Cobb made a motion that the secretary cast one unanimous ballot for the list as presented, seconded by RW Marion and carried      The list of 2013 officers is attached to these minutes.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

The Secretary’s annual report was given.   It was accepted on a motion by W Dennis and seconded by W Betty.    The books were audited by RW Lou DeMott      The report in full is attached to these minutes

COMMUNICATIONS, REMINDERS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

A thank for the support of the chapter was read from MW Norma Reynolds, Jr. Past Grand Matron

 

The death notice of MW Walter List, Grand Patron, past on Sept 20, 2012

 

The insurance program information  was sent by Grand Chapter.   We will not participate as the Lodge carries insurance.

 

The Chapter Christmas Party is December 12.  RW Bonnie needs your reservation by December 1.    Cost of guests for the party is $18.00.

 

The District Christmas party is December 9.   Cost is $25.00.   Checks to be made out to Lou DeMott.     WS Betty will be glad to take your money tonight.

 

School of Instruction and Briefing Meeting will be here on December 8.    Our chapter will supply the coffee/tea/water.   The DDGM has cake and cookies and needs some sandwiches.

By using proxies, all officers were elected, appointed and installed.

 

Following installation WS Connie Cazer assumed the gavel.    WS Betty and B. Bob Nesbitt approached the East and presented gifts from the Chapter to the M and P.

RW Bonnie approached the East and presented the Matron with a personal gift.

 

The WM presented in the East RW Bobbie Brundege, Jr. Past Matron of Chenango chapter.   RW Bobbie then signed the chapter Bible.   RW Tony will sign the Bible at another time.

 

The chapter gave a donation to the Save The Home Fund in honor of RW Bobbie and RW Tony.

 

WS Connie spoke about her program for the year, her motto, symbol, flower, odes and colors.

 

RW Sherry presented a gift to W Connie and congratulated the M and P and thanked them for serving their chapter for the ensuing year.   The Deputy and lecturer will be working toward increasing membership and getting out the inactive members.  They will specifically support Save the Home and the Emergency Relief and General Welfare Fund and Social Services

 

RW Steve also congratulated the M and P and congratulated RW Larry on conducting the ceremony of Installation of Officers.  RW Steve will be supporting the Grand’s Project called Honor Flight Program.   We’ll be receiving more info on this program.

 

9 past Grand Officers and 3 Past Matrons and Patrons received Grand Honors.   Also receiving honors were RW Dick Ohmer, Patron of Round Hill and our own WM and WP.

 

Chapter closed in due form and refreshments were served in the social room.
