The regular stated meeting of Chenango chapter No. 135, O.E.S., was held at its rooms Wednesday evening at 7:00 with WS Constance Cazer and WB Dennis Youngs presiding in the East.†† Chapter opened in short form.†† The WM greeted 16 officers and members.
On Role Call of officers the following were reported absent:† Assoc Matron and Patron, 2 trustees, color bearer, and point of Esther
The minutes of the previous meeting were not read for information
Under Sickness, Distress and Joy the following was
reported:†† S. Secretary had a fire in
her home on December 25.††† Fire was
contained in the bedroom and structural damage was minimal.† Loss was a TV, curtains, carpet and
blinds.†† No injuries.††† Grand Chapter has already issued a check
from the Emergency Relief Fund to RW Yvonne.†††
Smoke and soot primary damage.†††
S. Yvonne is living with RW Bonnie until her home is livable once again..†† B Bob Nesbitt has retired from full time
employment.†††† S Marge is not feeling
well this evening.†† RW Tony fell twice,
injuring his ribs and breaking an ankle.†
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:† WS Carol did not have a Grand Chapter report
The chapter Christmas party was well attended and a good time was had by all.†† Our secret pals were revealed and gifts were exchanged.
Secret Pals for 2013 was tabled until the next meeting.† The WM is asking for suggestions of something different that we could do.
S Linda gave a report on Bonnieís Angels cook book project.† She is hoping for 400 recipes and has 280 at this time.
RW Tony was escorted to the altar and signed the Bible as patron in 2012.
S. Secretary reported on the District Briefing Meeting and
S Secretary reported on the District Brunch and Christmas Party.††† RW Lou and his DDGM were in charge and did a wonderful job.††† All those present had a great time and several went home with door prizes provided by the Chapters.†††† RW Yvonne Cobb had the privilege and pleasure to present RW Bonnie Cobb with her past Associate Grand Marshals Pin given to her by the Chapter.
S. Secretary pointed out the new fire escape is completed and ready for use.
S. Secretary reported that to date Grand Chapter has
distributed $25,000 to 18 recipients since hurricane
Cindy Eckerson is requesting donations of BINGO gifts for the home.††† S. Secretary has a list of suggested items on the desk.
NEW BUSINESS:†† S. Treasurer reported a checking account balance of $1,489.19 and reports that the 2013 rent is paid, the Grand chapter and District per capita is paid for 2013.††† At this time she also turned over to RW Bonnie as trustee, the savings account and CD account.
S. Secretary reported that Chris and Susan Freitag and Ann Eggleston have requested withdrawals from the chapter and S. Secretary has issued to each of them the proper paper work and they have been dropped from our roles.
The WM has a list circulating asking for volunteers to provide refreshments after meetings beginning in March.

The Constitutional Amendments presented at Grand Chapter have been adopted and will be sent to chapters soon.††
MW Les Morrell is chair of a committee that is doing a ritual review for clarification, punctuation, etc. and would appreciate any inputs from members.†† Put your input in writing and give to RW Bonnie Cobb as she is serving on this committee.†
The dates of the Grand Matronís Official Visits are out and the secretary has them.† Also being distributed are the District official visits dates.
A communication was read from the Grand Secretary concerning recent action taken by the commissioners and the Grand Matron, and Grand Patron.††† S. Joyce Bidnick has been found guilty for behavior unbecoming a member of our Order and has been expelled from the Order Of The Eastern Star.
