The minutes of the regular stated meeting of Chenango Chapter #135 opened on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 with Worthy Sister Marge and Worthy Brother Tony presiding in the East, with 17 members present.  The Chapter was opened in short form.  The worthy Matron greeted all and courtesies of the East were extended to RWS Bobbie Brundage.

With the Roll Call of Officers the following were absent: the Associate Conductress, two Trustees, Musician, Asst. Marshall, Esther, and Chaplain.

Sickness/Distress/Joy:  S. Sue Freitag is recovering from her knee surgery. B. Bob Nesbitt also is home and recovering.  A card for all to sign will be sent out to S. Roberta Pierson on her 95th birthday.  S. Pat Burke from Trinity Chapter had surgery and is in Wilson Hospital.  S. Betty and B. Lou’s grandchild Lilah is gaining weight and now is up to 5 pounds; she still is in Albany NICU.  S Carol Ann and B Doug say hello and good luck on our District Night

Unfinished Business:  We have two petitions for membership, Wanda Wildenstein and Ann Eggleston.  They have paid ˝ of the initiation fee.  A motion was made by R.S. Yvonne to accept the petitions and W.B. Dennis seconded.   Motion passed.  We balloted on the petitions and the ballot was clear.

Old Business: RWS Yvonne has new ritual covers, red and white, for $5.00.

A tour of the OES Home is possible with 2-3 weeks advanced notice.  Discussion was tabled until later in the spring.   April 4th is the Easter egg hunt.  There are still 20 dozen eggs left to stuff.  Meet at 8:30-9:30 at the high school hill.

New Business:  Our District Night is now April 22 and the refreshments will be finger food. Note the date change!!

A letter was sent from our OES Home in Oriskany that any contributions to help save the home are welcome.  The OES Home is funded by investments and as the stock market is not doing well, money is desperately needed.  Please give as much as you can.  Any amount is welcomed

New Business:  The Grand Matron and Grand Patron have announced a new “Achievement Award” which will celebrate OES members’ service to our order, District and/or Chapter.  This award will be presented at Grand Chapter, October 10,11, 12.  Nominations need to be sent to the Grand Matron and Grand Patron by July 31.
