OLD IS WHEN:

'OLD' IS WHEN... Your friends compliment you On your new alligator shoes And you're barefoot.

'OLD' IS WHEN... A sexy lady catches your fancy
And your pacemaker opens the garage door,

'OLD' IS WHEN... Going bra-less Pulls all the wrinkles out of your face.

'OLD' IS WHEN... You don't care where your spouse goes,
Just as long as you don't have to go along.

'OLD' IS WHEN... You are cautioned to slow down by the doctor
instead of by the police

PILGRIMAGE DAY AT ORISKANY
SATURDAY, JULY 25, 2009
Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Pilgrimage Day at Oriskany on July 25, 2009 is not far off and it is our wish as Chairpersons to invite you to join us for
a wonderful day with family and friends on the grounds of the Eastern Star Campus. The theme this year will be an Old
Fashioned County Fair, so start thinking of a spectacular outfit to wear. This will be an exciting event honoring
M.W. Sharon V. Haase, Grand Matron and M.W. Blake A. Buckner, Grand Patron.

What is planned will be a chicken and pulled pork barbeque catered by Dinosaur BBQ of Syracuse
at the cost of $20.00 per person and will be served at 6 pm. There will also be a wine and beer bar beginning at 5 pm.

In order to insure a place is reserved for you, as there will only be open seating, we suggest that you send your request
and check for your dinner reservation as soon as possible. DINNER WILL BE BY RESERVATION ONLY. Please, be sure to
include your name, present Grand Office (if applicable) and your District. The DEADLINE for reservations is July 1, 2009.
Your BBQ and BAR tickets will be available at a designated table during Pilgrimage Day.
The ATTIRE FOR THIS EVENT WILL BE CASUAL.

It has been requested that any persons, districts, or groups wishing to make presentations to the Most Worthy Grand Matron
give an envelope to the Grand Marshal, R.W. David Riha prior to the BBQ. The envelope should contain the names of the donors,
the fund to which the gift is intended and the amount of the gift. These gifts will be announced and acknowledged by Most Worthy Sharon.

It is our hope that all who read this will be able to attend this annual event. Bring a friend or a sister or a brother who
have never been to Pilgrimage Day to enjoy for the first time the warmth and friendship that is ours to give.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Bruce and Diane

A NEW request from The ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT:
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!!
WE NOW HAVE ALL THE BOXES THAT WE NEED!!! Thank you,
Cindy A. Eckerson
Administrative Assistant
Eastern Star Campus

Dear Members,
Just a quick note to say a formal thank you to all of you who have made lap robes for our residents here at the Home. They are very much appreciated.
It was suggested that we let you all know, for the resident to benefit the most by the lap robes, they should be made with a width of approximately 38” and a length of approximately 46” and with a tight crochet or knit. If the robe is too small, it doesn’t cover their lap and legs for added warmth; if it is too big, they will get caught in their wheelchairs or they may trip on it and fall; and if they are loosely crocheted or knitted with holes, they do not keep the resident warm from any drafts.
Again, thank you.
Cindy A. Eckerson
