Welcome to the OMS-PTO Web Site
The PTO serves as a means of communication between home and school, and provides service to the school and its children. Membership in the PTO is free and open to all parents, teachers & administrators of middle school children.
Our fund raising goal for this year is to raise enough money to provide each OMS student a light snack before each of the middle school State exams. We are also hoping to support the 7th grade summer orientation program and a end of the year dance for the graduating 6th grade class from our 5 elementary schools.

- Sponsors the back-to-school barbeque
- Donates books to the monthly OMS live book raffle
- Runs the Book Fair (September)
- Sells school t-shirts & sweatshirts
- Provides an ice cream social after the Winter Concert (December 18)
- Offers graduation scholarships
- Supports OMS Live, the Chess Club, and Minds On Academic Conference
- Purchased the electronic message board in the OMS cafeteria
TEST DATES BEGIN NEXT WEEK!!!We will be accepting donations of snack foods before each of the four testing periods in January, March, May, and June.We will also support the mandatory 8th grade language proficiency test by providing funds for a snack. We are asking each family to donate at least one package (or case) of granola bars/Nutri Grain bars and/or mini-water bottles/ juice boxes/pouches. We will also accept cash donations (checks should be made payable to OMS PTO). Please send in your donations to the middle school office - attention: Lisa Meschutt or Anna Rossi. - Treasurer’s Report: balance $2452
- Old Business: Minutes were approved.
- Next Meeting: April 18, 2008 at 7pm in the OMS cafeteria. Discussion will include 8th Grade graduation plans, a welcome dance for the new 7th grade class in June, 2007 and 7th grade summer orientation.
- 10 students from 8th grade will be sent to the Minds On Workshop from OMS. The PTO donated $330 to send our students for the day.
- 8th Grade Graduation: The PTO will continue to provide scholarship money. Anna Rossi has volunteered to be a PTO contact on the 8th grade graduation committee, but all interested parents are encouraged to participate. Contact Anna for meeting date.
- Tools for Schools: The school has received 2 globes, calculators and other supplies to date.
- Snack Donations: We have additional test dates this year including the 8th grade language proficiency. Please send in snacks and drinks for the students.
- Support for OMS Live: Audio equipment will be assessed to see if there is a need to improve the resources.
- PTO Wall:An information center on activities will be displayed by the Main Office at OMS. Parents will be invited to leave an email address on April 22 at parent night. Items will be for sale!

- Ponderosa - Tell the cashier you are with OMS & we get a percentage of the total sale.
- Target - Register your Target Red card at Target and shop!
