Ride for Fire Prevention Rules

One of our Club’s mission statements is to promote motorcycle safety. It is a mission statement that our Chapter takes great pride in and takes VERY seriously, therefore:
  1. All motorcycles must be registered and insured. Drivers must be properly licensed or hold a valid proper permit.
  2. The use of alcohol or any substance that affects the ability to operate or control his or her vehicle or may be considered hazardous to the health and safety of participants and spectators is strictly forbidden. Any participant found to be in violation of this rule will be asked to leave the event. Registration fees are non-refundable.
  3. NO stunt riding or other negligent or reckless conduct of any kind will be tolerated. Any participant found to be in violation of this rule will be asked to leave the event. Registration fees are non-refundable.
  4. We will ride in staggered double-file formation in order to provide room for maneuverability. Please try not to bunch up or ride side-by-side.
  5. This is NOT a race or timed event. BE SAFE! If you are driving, observe all traffic laws and be a defensive, courteous motorist. The group will employ “road guards” and have traffic control in place in some locations, however always expect the unexpected and drive defensively.
  6. HAVE FUN, enjoy the ride and camaraderie with our club and other motorcyclists participating in the event. You’re riding for a great cause, and we’re appreciative of you taking part.

Poker Run rules:
  1. Participants will draw one playing card at the place and time of their registration, and receive additional draws at Saranac Lake VFD, Stewart’s Shop in Ausable Forks, NY, with the final two draws at the conclusion of the ride at Morrisonville VFD, for a total of five cards. No duplicate cards can be drawn. Participants must draw an additional card if an identical card is drawn. (Example: An Ace of Spades is drawn at the second draw, and an Ace of Spades is drawn on the final draw, the participant must pick another card at the final draw). There are no wild cards, and hands with five-of-a-kind are not permitted.
  2. Upon completion of the Poker Run, the cards are turned in at the last venue. There will be a chance for last chance draw at the price of $5.00 per card drawn (up to five cards/$25.00). This last chance draw can be used to better or worsen your hand. Prizes are awarded to the best and worst poker hands.
  3. In case of a tie, it will be settled by high card draw at the last venue between the participants involved in the tie.
  4. Penalty for breaking any of the above rules is automatic disqualification.
  5. All decisions by the Benefit Ride committee are final.
