PADDLE BOAT RIDE - LAUREN KRISTY WOW what a fabulous time we had last Saturday. We had 24 of our ladies attend and I believe we had a little over 150 in all. Our DJ George (from Christmas Party) had all of us up dancing and prancing and oh those fabulous games. I am happy to report that my ladies won the balloon passing game 3 relays between the legs! Hmmmmmm what is that telling us??? Seriously, I want to thank Vicki, Theresa & Jean of the LI Henna Harpers for providing us with such a wonderful event & we hope to do it again next year! Prices are sneaking up on us so we will have go get that penny jar and make it into a quarter jar. |

LI Fancy Ladies One In A Million
Ladies, we have had so much going on all this year - it has been wonderful. I truly appreciate the cooperation I have received from all of you! As I keep telling everyone I have the BEST CHAPTER. Of course, it is great because of the fabulous ladies we have and each of us enjoy having a good time. Our theme is Live, Love and Laugh; what better things can we hope for. So join me these next 6 months for more happy times and remember to tell everyone with pride that you are a member of the LONG ISLAND FANCY LADIES! I will be in Arizona from Oct 2-12 but then LI RED HAT CONVEN-TION HERE WE COME. Joan Cox, Julie Mawn and Margie Bass are going to accompany me to the Huntington Hilton for this huge gathering of Red Hats from all across the nation. We will take lots of pictures and I am sure we will have so much to tell you. Johanna & her Committee have worked so hard & have given us so many wonderful things to enjoy..... thanks ladies! Oct 25th we will be going to Woodbury Country Club for the Red Hat Beauty Pagent and Murder Mystery - oh boy this should be hysterical as the people working on this are a bundle of laughs. Remember gowns are optional! thanks to Patti Eaton, Barbara Perro and their fabulous ladies for putting such a fun night together for us.
Since I will be in Arizona for the October meeting, our Queen of Vice, Joan Cox will be running the show. She has assured me she has many exciting things for you. I also suggested Halloween Costumes since it is timely. Our November Meeting falls on Election Day and difficulty in parking I have decided to join the LI Henna Harpers at their meeting on Monday, November 5th for a novel idea...Cookie Exchange! I will have further details for you at our September Meeting. I truly hope we can have a huge turnout and of course we will car pool!
Unfortunately we have had many of our ladies sick this year & surgeries galore! All I can say is keep those prayers coming for ALL of the LI Fancy Ladies as we never know who will need them next. We have been making a lot of use of our Sunshine Fund and rest assured red & purple flowers (Clare Schulz, Betty Reeve,Joan Cox, Angela Glass, Fran Higgins, Doris McHugh) have been sent to all -- Julie Mawn will be having surgery on July 31st. The optimum word is PARTY, PARTY, PARTY...... yes, our fantastic Christmas Party was sold out as of January 3rd... we do have the best party on the Island and I thank all who have participated in it these last 4 years! WOODLOCH PINES HAS SOLD OUT. Not surprised, the bus was filled in less than a month after I announced it. In fact, I have 6 or 8 people joining us who will be driving. It is such a wonderful place and I know we will just have a barrel of laughs not to mention comradarie.... thank you my Sisters in Red for believing in me. Love ya,
We've been together for just 2 years; We've shared much laughter plus a afew tears! As we venture forth for year number 3 I want to share a blessing for you from me! God has given each one a gift to share, a gift so special, a gift to care. With a smile on your face a twinkle in your eye your support for your Queen keeps her spirits high. As we all work together on the same team, we will look to the future sharing our dream. Growing older together in a delightful way sure beats boredom & rust that can ruin your day. Some people might think we look like old bats in our purple attire topped off with Red Hats! But I'd rather be happy with girls who don't care than sitting alone in an old rocking chair. I pray God will bless you throughout every day & nothing but good things will venture your way. For every Red Hatter you come to know pass this blessing along so she too will know... that Red Hat Sisters are like jewels in a crown, ready to lift you up when you're feeling down.
