Evening of Giving
SEPTA Offers Tickets for simon evening of giving shopping event.
Massapequa Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) is offering the public a chance to purchase tickets for the Simon Evening of Giving, an annual private shopping and entertainment event that raises funds for local, regional and national charities.
On the evening of Sunday, November 23rd from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., Roosevelt Field and Walt Whitman Mall will be reserved exclusively for the use of shoppers who’ve purchased $ 10.00 Simon Evening of Giving tickets from participating charities, including Massapequa SEPTA.
The event will feature exclusive store discounts throughout the mall, family entertainment, prizes and giveaways, delicious food sampling and more. Of the funds generated, $ 7.00 from each ticket will directly benefit Massapequa SEPTA and the remainder will go to the Simon Youth Foundation.
Further information on this exciting opportunity will be sent from your home school and can be returned along with your order and a check payable to SEPTA to the SEPTA mail box in your school building by October 31st.

Massapequa Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) will begin its Annual Joe Corbi Extravaganza on October 20th, 2008. As long time SEPTA supporters already know, Joe Corbi makes a delightful assortment of ready to bake cookie dough and an enticing variety of convenient personal and family sized pizzas. Joe Corbi’s products are delicious and easy to make, and cannot be found in local stores, restaurants or hotels.
Take this wonderful opportunity to support SEPTA and to indulge your family and holiday guests.
Orders will be taken between October 20th and November 3rd, 2008. Delivery will be at Berner Middle School, on either December 1st or 3rd, according to which school your child attends.

SEPTA General Membership Meeting
Featuring a Presentation on Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Massapequa Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) will host its November general membership meeting on Monday November 10th, 2008 from 7:30pm-9:00pm at the McKenna Senior Center at McKenna Elementary School, Spruce Street, Massapequa Park, NY.
All parents, grandparents, caregivers, community members, educators and administrators are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.
The featured program is a presentation on Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD.) This is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder affecting about 3-5% of the world's population. It typically presents during childhood, and is characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity, as well as forgetfulness, poor impulse control or impulsivity, and distractibility.
