Get Ready! Annual Talent Show

February 10, 2012
**First Rehearsal**
Friday, January 6th

Shop the Bookfair Online

If your child missed out on purchasing on a book at the School Book Fair, or saw a friend reading a book that he just needs to own you can shop online at Scholastic.

Available Jan 27 - Feb 17 Only!

All orders will ship direct to school for FREE when the Online Fair has ended.

In June most of the PTA Board will have completed their terms. The open positions are:

  • Co-President
  • Co-President
  • First Vice President (Council)
  • Vice President (Ways and Means)
  • Vice President (Programming)

We will have NO PTA next year without volunteers.

If you have any interest in a position, please contact Maria 541-7345 or Jeannie 797-5338. Now would be a great time to become involved so that we can train you.

Without a PTA there will be no Field Day, Circus, School Pictures, Holiday Shopping, Book Fairs and all the Grade Level Shows and Assemblies the students participate in throughout the school year. Basically, every EXTRA is sponsored by your PTA! We will also be the only Elementary School in the Massapequa School District without a PTA.

We also need one or two people to take over the Field Day Committee. It would be great if you help out planning this year’s Field Day with Rene Vecchione so that she can train you.

It is the talents and dedication of all our members that makes our PTA so special.

About RJ Lockhart

The Raymond J. Lockhart School is an integral part of the community. Students are invited to discover, invent, experiment, and dream in our child-centered classrooms. Technology is infused throughout the curriculum and there is a strong emphasis on literacy and reading. New York State Standards are evident throughout the school. Our children also participate in a character education program that was carefully developed by our site-based team. Children participate in recycling efforts, feeding the hungry, and developing a core of respect for themselves, each other, and the environment.

In addition to our core curriculum, students receive specialized instruction in physical education, art, music, library, and technology. Extracurricular clubs for drama, music, journalism, and more are also offered. It is our goal to give our students a love of learning and the thirst for knowledge.

The future belongs to those that believe in the beauty of their dreams.”—Eleanor Roosevelt
