08/20/07 - At around 8:22 AM this morning a call went out for explosion,no fire,occupant out of house, at 7365 McMullen Road, the home of Joy Horton.Upon arrival Assistant Chief Randy Foote found part of the house in the middle of road along with electrical wires.Mrs.Horton was inside at the time of explosion and some how was not injured and escaped by crawling across the kitchen sink and out what was once the back kitchen window. Cause of explosion at this time is still unknown but investigators don't believe it was caused by the propane supply coming into the house. The Holmes Group Announce Recall of Tower Heater Fans
Company: The Holmes Group Inc., Milford, MA
Alert Type : Recall

Description: The recall involves Holmes(r) models HFH6498-U, HFH6500-U and HFH6500TG-U and Bionaire(r) model BFH3530-U. The recalled heaters also have date codes beginning with 2604 through 3804 for all units, except for Holmes(r) model 6500TG-U, which has date codes ranging from 2604 through 4704.
Problem: The power cord on the units can fray or sever causing the fan to stop working and overheat. This could pose a fire hazard to consumers.

DESA Heating Products Announce Recall of Compact Gas Fireplaces
Company: DESA Heating Products of Bowling Green, KY
Alert Type: Recall

Description: The recall includes DESA Heating Products 10,000 Btu Thermostatically Controlled Compact Classic Hearth Fireplaces that burn propane or natural gas. They have the following model names and number: Vanguard (VMH10TPC & VMH10TNC) and FMI (EFS10TPA & EFS10TNA).
Problem: The burner tube connection to the gas valve can leak gas when the main burner is on. This leaking gas can ignite, causing a minor flare-up, which could cause nearby combustibles to ignite.

Lamplight Farms Inc. Announce Recall of Tiki(r) Cone Metal Torches Sold at Wal-Mart
Company: Lamplight Farms Inc., Division of W.C. Bradley Co., Menomonee Falls, WI
Alert Type: Recall

Description: The recalled Tiki(r) Cone Metal Torch is a 6-foot long, outdoor, open-flame lamp consisting of a black metal pole topped by a copper-colored, cone-shaped metal head. A black decorative rod spirals around the head of the torch. The torch head includes the fuel reservoir, cover and wick. It was sold under Lamplight Farms model numbers 1263 and 126301 and Wal-Mart item numbers 1656121 and 1691366.
Problem: The head and cover of these torches can come loose or be dislodged during use, allowing torch fuel to spill. This poses a risk of burn injuries and property damage.
