On May 20th we held our annual firemens banquet at our firehall. Before the start of the banquet we were honored by the presence of Senator Nozzolio. After seeing what equipment we had purchased with the $8000 grant we had recently received, the Senator was introduced and told of how over the years he had learned that the community was very dedicated and supportive of the fire department.

Before leaving for another appointment, the Senator to everyone's surprise presented us with a check for $15,000. This money will go toward the purchase of a Thermal-Imaging camera.

After bidding good-bye to the Senator Chief Gilchrist introduced our MC for the evening, it was none other then our past member and now social member Ralph Frary.

Ralph told us it was time to eat and we all enjoyed a great tasting meal catered by Dinosaur BBQ from Rochester,NY. It was sure filling and there was plenty of food to enjoy.

After the great meal the evenings activities began. Line officers were introduced for both fire and EMS as well as company officers, social members, honorary members and our fire commissioners.

The Chief then turned over the mic to Donna McAdoo, President of the Ladies Auxiallary, who introduced her officers and spoke about some of her senior members. She then presented the Auxiallary Member of the Year to Linda Englishman.

Next it was time for the firemen's awards and recognitions.

Presenting the Fireman of the Year and EMS member of the Year was Casey Gilchrist winner of both awards last year. This years EMS Member of the Year was presented to John Smith. Next came the Fireman of the Year award and it was presented to Dan Celso.

Following the awards door prizes were drawn with prizes donated by some of the local merchants.

With the awards over it was now time for the evenings entertainment. This year, since we had chosen the theme as a country-western style, we were then entertained by a group of young people from Rochester who played gospel bluegrass and regular bluegrass. They did a fantastic job and were well liked by all.

It was a fun evening and we look forward to doing it again next year.

Note: Pics of banquet will be here as soon as available.
