This program now consists of over twenty women with cognitive, intellectual disabilities. Some of these ladies work in the community and at Double S Industries and live semi-independently with assistance. The group meets on a monthly basis having a volunteer presenter to provide them with knowledge and skills that may enhance their daily living and social interaction. After our first few gatherings, which started with a group of eight, their response and interest proved this need. This group has been successfully in progress since September 2001.

Many of the women seldom have the opportunity to feel they belong or fit in. They have the ability to learn and apply what they learn, but they need to be exposed to activities that typical people take for granted.

Men's Group

On Monday, April 14th, 2008 The Arc held it's first Men's Group from 4:00-5:00pm in the school gym. This group will be similar to The Ladies Group which has been meeting once a month for almost 7 years. The meeting times will be the second Monday of each month from 3:00-4:00pm.
