PAST CHAPTER PRESIDENTS
*James Hollis Petro (1988)
James H. Petro was born 22 October 1915 in Columbus, Ohio and died 8 May 1993 in Chillicothe, Ohio. James and his wife, Kay, were the parents of two daughters, Jennie and Lynn. Jim was a retired Agronomist who joined the SAR in 1988. His patriot ancestor was John Coppage, a private in the Third Virginia Regiment. He also verified two other patriot ancestors. James was also a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, the Walnut Street United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club.
*Charles Emerson Turvy (1991-1992)
Charles E. Turvy died 3 February 2008. He and his first wife, Cynthia Marie, were the parents of a son, Barry Emerson. Charles served in the US Army from April 1966 to December 1968. He was a sergeant in the 25th Infantry Division and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the VFW, the AMVETS and the DAV. He was considered 100% disabled from the military, by the Veterans Administration. Charles joined the SAR in 1988 and his patriot ancestor was John Peden who furnished supplies and provisions for Army use.
