What is attention deficit disorder Attention Deficit Disorder(ADD)is diagnoses given to children and adults who display certain behaviors. Children and adults have a hard time keeping their mind on one thing and may get bored with a task after only a few minutes. People who are hyperactive always seem to be doing something. They can't sit still and may feel restless. People who are overly impulsive are unable to think before they act. People that have a disorder are still normal people, but they just need some guidance or help time to time.

how to determine if a child has a learning disability
Children reach many periods of development: the first word, the first step, and ect. Learning disorders may be observed in the child's skill development. A 2-year delay in the primary grades is usually considered significant. While children can be watched by many observation techniques, actual diagnosis of learning disabilities is made by using tests that compare the child's level of ability to do what is considered normal development for a person of that age and intelligence. Test outcomes depend not only on the child's actual abilities but on the reliability of the test and the child's ability to pay attention and understand the questions
four main areas that deal with attention deficit disorder
(1.)Inattention -lack of attention

(2.)Impulsivity -Inclined to act on impulse rather than thought

(3.)Hypereractivity -Highly or excessively active,

(4.)Boredom -The condition of being bored

What causes a learning disability
No one knows what causes learning disabilities as of now. There are too many possibilities to pin down the cause of the disability with certainty. A leading theory among scientists is that learning disabilities stem from subtle disturbances in the brain structures and functions. It is more important, however, that families not dwell on the causes but rather move forward in finding ways to get the right help

Annotated Bibliography
Willcut, Erik. "Characterizing the ADD phenotype for genetic stusies." Journal of Psychiatry & Neuroscience. Vol. 8 Issue 2, p115. EBESCO. Alden Library, Ohio University. April 5, 2004.
This article talks about how ADD studies has a made tremendous progress. Further development will help pin point and identifing the exact phenotype for genetic analysis. The recognition of the multiple symptoms od ADD can help to isolate more specific genetic influences. Finally, it is suggested that extending studies beyond physiological and metabolic markers might help progress.

Daley, David. "Varieties of preschool hyperactivity: multiple pathways from risk to disorder." Developmental Science. Vol. 8 Issue 2, p141. EBSCO. Alden Library, Ohio University. March 18, 2004.
In this article it discusses the attention deficit disorder from both mental disorder and developmental psychopath points of view. Preschool period is where ADD behaviours occur and extreme form and should be recognized by the care taker. Also, at different ages you will notice changes taking place from ADD. This article discusses that models distinguish among different developmental types of early-emerging problems are needed.

Sparks, Richard L. "Comparison of the Performance of College Students Classified as ADD, LD, and LD/ADHD in Foreign Language Courses." Behavior Genetics. Vol. 55 Issue 1, p151. EBSCO. Alden Library, Ohio University. January,2005.
This article discusses the comparison of foreign students with ADD, ADHD, or LD, compared with students that have both LD ADHD, or ADD. Findings have revealed few between-group differences on the testing measures and also showed that all 5 groups scored in the average to above-average range on all measures of academic achievement and achieved primarily average to above-average grades in all of the courses. Results indicated that status and disability classification were not important.
