The Bible Science Safari is a fun and fascinating demonstration of basic physical science and physics experiments using common everyday objects. Our emphasis is on salvation, faithfulness to the Bible and Church, and Christian character.
The Bible Science Safari features Kitchen Chemistry and Playground Physics. Professor Mark and the Bible Science Safari is available for Sunday School and special meetings, VBS, youth activities, Mission Conferences, Senior Saints meetings, homeschooling groups, and Christian School chapel services.
The word science appears only twice in the Bible (KJV). In the Old Testament, Daniel and the young Hebrew captives are described as, "Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science" (Daniel 1:4).
In the New Testament, Paul was training a young preacher named Timothy. Paul, the aged preacher gave Timothy some godly advice. He said, "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called" (1 Timothy 6:20).
Those two verses are the basis of the Bible Science Safari. Professor Mark Dowler strives to introduce children (and others) to the true science rooted in the holy scriptures. The Professor also seeks to expose bad (or false) science, such as evolution.
Professor Mark uses many tools in his demonstration of the Bible Science projects. PowerPoint is used to keep the audience's attention focused on the demonstration. Use of God's Word is the very core of the Bible Science Safari.
The Bible Science Safari features the Van de Graaf generator, producing 200,000 volts of static electricity. The Van de Graaf demonstration is wrapped around the lesson "God's Power Is Awesome."
Mark Dowler has worked in the youth ministry for 25 years. He served as a junior church leader from 1990 until 2003. Professor Mark currently attends Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, WV.
Professor Mark specializes in presenting the Bible Science Safari to children's groups, however many teens and adults enjoy the Safari as well. The Bible Science Safari is presented free of charge to any group, however, love offerings will be accepted and appreciated.
