Monthly Prayer Letters JANUARY 2008 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecc. 3:1 Dear Friends, Here we are, another year has passed. It’s hard to believe that 2007 is gone already. The year for us was full of both happy and hard moments. Praise the Lord that he was not only with us through all of them but also helped us to grow as parents, children, family, and Christians. Many of you know about our son Ian and the lawnmower accident early last spring. Ian is back at it in full swing and ready to take on football (soccer) in 2008. This year my wife, Johnnie Anne, hurt her knee and was laid up in the bed for a month. God, again, saw us through a VERY difficult time. Johnnie has been back on her feet for a while but still not completely able to be as active as before. Please pray for complete restoration of her knee. As I said ’07 had times of lament, but also great times of rejoicing. We started deputation last spring knowing that we had to see our house sold in order to “really” move forward with deputation. I’m sure you are aware that the real estate market is not the greatest here in Ohio, but Praise The Lord, we closed in November. We also saw God move greatly among our home church family as we assisted in starting an active and growing missions program. Now we look forward to 2008 and the meetings that we have already scheduled. Please diligently pray with us about these matters: - That God would burden people for not only the souls in Ireland but in their own communities. - That we could set more meetings for the summer and fall of ’08. - That hearts would be tender to the Gospel as we minister to the lost (John Masten, Steve Albers, Johnnie’s family, Parker and Jeremy Sowers, the children of Ludlow Falls). - For encouragement from The Lord while we continue deputation. We Praise God for each and every one of your prayers and concerns for us and look forward to not only seeing you again, but having sweet eternal fellowship in the presence of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
