The End
Cairo PD was laid off on 11/09/2009.
Sort of brought back on 12/14/2009.
On 01/11/2010, the Council of the Village of Cairo voted to disband the police department and start contracting for services with the Allen County Sheriff's Office.
From a Village Marshall and Night Watchmen in the 1800s & early 1900s to a multi-officer department in the 1970s, Cairo has always had police to call it's own. Now, whether for good or bad, Cairo has lost one more facet of it's identity.
I salute all the officers that have given of themselves to Cairo and bid the Village a fond farewell.
