First, the "point of no return" is the exact place on a river where you have to bank your canoe, or you will go over the waterfall. The improv troupe’s home is Cuyahoga Falls, and there is a "point of no return" on the Cuyahoga River near where we perform.

From a philosophical standpoint, the "point of no return" is the place where a person is faced with a moral decision or dilemma that once a choice has been made, things will never be the same.

And -- in improv, there is a point in each scene or game, where you have gotten as funny as you are ever going to get so you ought to just stop there while the audience is laughing -- also known as the "point of no return."

So, whether it's fear of falling over the waterfall, or falling on our faces, we like to live right on the point of no return.
